Joe Biden makes parting plea for Israeli-Palestinian peace talks

Four-day trip by Joe Biden designed to kick-start faltering peace talks between the Israeli and Palestinian leaderships ended in failure last night despite a parting plea for negotiations to begin with no delay.

The efforts of the US Vice-President to rekindle peace initiatives were dealt a seemingly fatal blow by an Israeli pledge, made during his visit, to build a new settlement in east Jerusalem, an area that has long been claimed by the Palestinians. The US has urged Israel to stop settlement building to help the two sides find some common ground but Israel claims the whole of Jerusalem as its own and says that the area should be excluded from the arrangement.

Before he left Israel for Jordan last night Mr Biden urged the two sides to resume negotiations as soon as possible. However, Mahmoud Abbas, the leader of the Palestinian Authority, indicated that that was unlikely to happen. “The Palestinian side is not ready to negotiate under the present circumstances,” he told Amr Moussa, the Arab League Secretary-General, in Cairo.

Sabri Saidam, a senior Palestinian Authority official, described the situation as stagnant, and added that the Palestinians “are not ready to go to any negotiations unless Israel cancels this decision on the settlements”. That call was echoed by the chief Palestinian negotiator, Saeb Erekat.

Mr Biden had criticised the announcement by the Israeli Goverment that it planned to build 1,600 settler homes on contested land in Jerusalem, eliciting an apology from Binyamin Netanyahu, the Israeli Prime Minister, who insisted that the timing was coincidental.

The Vice-President — who was picked for his job in part for his foreign policy experience — said that he appreciated Mr Netanyahu’s response to the row, which included a promise that a mechanism was being established to “prevent the recurrence of that

Piss off, Plugs. You show up 2 hours late to a dinner—as a big “FU” to the best ally we’ve got in the entire REGION...and you pretend to have CREDIBILITY?

I hope Bibi didn’t even bother to say goodbye.

Plugs, you and your lame tin god living in the White House are the worst tag team administration I’ve EVER had the displeasure of remembering.

I hope to God above you’re one-termers.

Obama makes a considerable statement by sending the dufus Biden.

To me, it shows how little interest he has in the Middle-East peace process and sends a telling message to the Israelis, that they are on their own.

The Palis do not intend to honor any treaty they sign on to. Biden should know this, they’re just giving Biden a little practice at kissing arabs axx.

Why should any world leader take these clowns, Obama and Biden in particular, seriously? Other than whatever hand-outs from American taxpayers...what are we offering? Ipods with Barry’s speaches??

We apparently no longer support countries seeking freedom for their people. We currently choose to alienate our historical allies. We bow to foreign leaders (giant Whiskey Tango Foxtrot), We show no strength in dealing with emerging nuke powers (Iran, NoKo). Our POTUS goes about apologizing to other countries instead of promoting what is GREAT about our country.

Epic fail Barry. You’re not carrying the status of a Reagan simply because you’re POTUS. It comes with experience, demonstrated accomplishment, integrity, strength, and credibility.

Sorry Bibi. America made a horrible mistake, it will be corrected on or by 1/21/13.

Bibi and Israel are under the worse brazen pre-plotted attacks by the Obama crowd. What the Obamites are not cognizant of(or could less less about) is the guaranteed reciprocity for siding with the enemies of Israel.
