Its official now. This explains a lot of whats happened recently. Rupert Murdoch is moving his NewsCorp headquarters to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. You can kiss fair and balanced FoxNews good-bye.
Breitbart has the story here:
News Corp chief Rupert Murdoch announced on Tuesday that the Gulf emirate of Abu Dhabi is to become the headquarters of his global media empire in the Middle East.
Addressing some 400 delegates at the opening of the Abu Dhabi Media Summit, Murdoch said his corporation had started out as a small Australian firm to become a US-based international company that employs 64,000 people.
I have every confidence that Arab companies can do the same and more. I also believe that Abu Dhabi can lead the way. Murdoch said News Corp would headquarter its Middle Eastern global online advertising operations in Abu Dhabi, and move a number of satellite television channels to the capital of the United Arab Emirates from Hong Kong.
We will (also) establish a production office here for one of our documentary film-making companies, he said.
When we look to the future, News Corporation is betting on the creative potential of the more than 335 million people who make up the Arab world, he added.
Organised by the Abu Dhabi government, the three-day summit is expected to address the potential of the emerging media markets in the Middle East, India and China.
Mohammed Khalaf al-Mazruei, who heads the Abu Dhabi Media Company, told delegates that the Middle East is experiencing radical change, and that its media should accompany this revolution.
News Corp has already established strong links with the region, last month agreeing to invest 70 million dollars in the Rotana Group, which is controlled by Saudi tycoon Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, after buying a 9.0 percent stake in the firm.
Alwaleeds Kingdom holding company also owns around 7.0 percent of News Corps class B common stock.
How comforting that is for all of us who once looked to FoxNews as the last bastion of conservative television news and comment.
Where are they headquartered now?
Forgot to say: no need to condescend, I am not an idiot, and it isn’t very kind. Unless you are practicing to be the kind of priest who sends people running from the Church.
From the article;
“Murdoch said News Corp would headquarter its Middle Eastern global online advertising operations in Abu Dhabi, and move a number of satellite television channels to the capital of the United Arab Emirates from Hong Kong.”
Don’t feel ashamed, it doesn’t appear as if anyone else read it either.
I’m sorry to have offended you.
>> How much money will flow into Murdochs operations in the USA as a result of his basing his Middle East operations in, of all places, the Middle East?
Local operating revenue and 7% of distributed profits? I have no idea.
What about Murdoch’s son?
GRIM AT 8:23 A.M. ET: Fox News has become a major success story in the United States because it has given conservatives a voice. Fox is the most-watched cable news network.
But what of the future? Some signs make us uneasy. Did you know that Fox is seven-percent-owned by Saudi interests? Fox is run by Rupert Murdoch, who has been intensely pro-American. His son, though, is gradually taking over operations, and he apparently does not share his father’s views. A new announcement by the elder Murdoch (surprisingly) cannot make us happy:
ABU DHABI (AFP) - News Corp chief Rupert Murdoch announced on Tuesday that the Gulf emirate of Abu Dhabi is to become the headquarters of his global media empire in the Middle East.
Addressing some 400 delegates at the opening of the Abu Dhabi Media Summit, Murdoch said his corporation had started out as a small Australian firm to become a US-based international company that employs 64,000 people.

I’m not worried. Abu Dhabi is about capitalism. Rupert is going there because he can make money. I say cheers to him! He is getting out of the tax nightmare being created by Hussein.
Maybe if more corporations got up and left, this naiton would wake up.
I really wanted to see Microsoft go to Canada when Janet Reno was trying to destroy them....
Given what is going on in the USA, I don’t blame him!
There has been a definite effort lately here to take down NewsCorp
“Here’s the scorecard. If you are not a certified 100% Bible thumping conservative, you don’t get a good rating. Rush: Good, Hannity: Good, O’Reilly: Bad, Beck: Bad, Savage: Bad, Levine: Bad.”
That doesn’t justify slander. If whatever argument there is to be made cannot be made in open and honest debate, then it most likely could never stand on its own merit. Flat out lies like this headline just make the blogger look like they have an ax to grind and instead of destroying the credibility of NewsCorp, they destroy their own.
By taking his FOX Network out of New (tax) York, he will open up a whole new revolution of information to the Arab World and compete with Al Jazeera for the truth.
We will still have FOX here, and you can bet they will leave New (tax) York to stew in their own sewage.
Wierd. You attack me but do not refute my posts.
You made my point. Just because I don't believe that the earth is 6000 years old, I am your enemy, along with FOX, O'Reilly, Beck, Savage ...
No, I don't even know what your rambling is about, it is just weirdness to me, something is clearly odd about you.
Loyal to this country? What’s loyal to you? Backing Obama’s policies? Explain please. There have been a number of newbies like you trying to run down Fox News of late.
You are a terribly ignorant Freeper. The man is growing his business. He is going to do to Al Jareza what he did to CNN..... beat the crap out of it.
Although you are totally ignorant of the fact, there is a very large Arabic speaking audience and other Asian audiences that need to be served with a new message that is different from the narrow existing presentations.
You need to get out more and have a look at the real world. It is much different from that tunnel visioned warped view you get up to each morning.
First, I am not a newbie, I have been a member since 2000, please see my profile. Second, I have defended, not run down, Fox News and gotten beaten over the head for it. Third, I simply have very little use for Rupert Murdoch. You know not that of which you speak.
To 76 - *APPLAUSE*
You’ve been a member since Jan 2009. What you added to your profile means nothing. You still have not defined how Murdoch has not been loyal.
You think I am lying?
