Conservative opponents of the Obama administration are urging supporters to resist the upcoming US census, saying it asks too many questions and reflects increasing government intrusion into private matters.
The census, held every 10 years since 1790, is becoming a focal point for the growing anti-government movement in the US.
The government will endeavour to count every person living in the US, regardless of legal, immigration or citizenship status. The count, which helps determine political representation and the distribution of hundreds of billions of dollars in government funds, is mandated by the constitution.
Congresswoman Michele Bachmann, a virulently conservative, anti-Obama Republican from Minnesota, has urged supporters to give only the number of people living in their household, saying nothing more is required by the constitution. Participation in the census is required by law and to refuse, or to falsify information, is punishable by fines that can range from $100 up to $500 (about £60 to £300), although the law is rarely enforced.

Do you think it’s logical to believe that the framers of the Constitution would want non-citizens included in the count for some reason when they are not represented under the Constitution and are not granted the same rights as legal US citizens?

The object is to mess with their evil statistics.
Keep in mind that they view YOU as evil for not complying. If you give them the means to come after you, they may do it, and they have the power. You don’t. Don’t tempt fate and put yourself in the position of having to pay a lawyer to defend to. You probably have a job and family. You need the money for them, not to pay out to lawyers just to be a tiny voice protesting against Goliath.
Just answer the total household headcount, nothing more.

Go ahead. Fork that money over to some lawyer....knowing part of it will probably end up in some rat’s pocket since the lawyers by-and-large support rats.
Maybe you have nothing better to do with your money than pay a defense lawyer for federal court and maybe you have nothing better to do with your time.

Yes - there are some Conservatives who will walk the walk to challenge an unconstitutional status quo, there are some Conservatives who will go to the March on D.C. and there are some who talk the talk — not walk the walk.
Many many far too many so called Patriots look out for their own behinds before working to make restore our rights.

Whats to prevent people from listing more people in their household...or a taker from doing so ....this is being done by mail so less...I see lots of opportunity for fraud in a big way!

You're too serious & way too technical. I am answering "American" because I want to answer the question my way, not the Census prescribed way. Maybe I will answer it "Native Norwegian/Polish/English-American" since I was born as a native in America with a mixture of European nationalities, just to cover all my bases along with wanting to be a hyphenated-American like all the dumb ass liberals push for their victimized minority classes.

Mark Krikorian from the National Review Online has a great suggestion on how we can all fight back against the divisive racial classifications perpetuated by the government via the Census.
Mark’s recommendation is to enter “American” as our response to Question #9 on the 2010 Census Form that will soon be mailed out to all American households.
We urge you to do this and stop the continual segregation of America into more and more racial classes. We are one people and one country under God. We are all Americans!
What I said before still stands. But if you and the Krik followers (as opposed to leaders) want to look childish and silly, by all means, go ahead. I guess the rest of us protesting by only answering #1 as Congresswoman Bachman urges, which is the topic of this thread and set forth in the opening article, will just have to suck it up and be painted with same broad brush of idiocy as you will be.

If you want to walk the walk, put your money where your mouth is. Organize a large number of people, fork out some money for a team of lawyers and start an undertaking to remove any statutory authority to enforce full completion of those stupid census forms.
Otherwise you’re just blowing smoke, playing games and setting yourself up for grief, which means they, not we, win.
