The end of the road for Barack Obama?
The Telegraph ^ | 08 Mar 2010 | Simon Heffer

It is a universal political truth that administrations do not begin to fragment when things are going well: it only happens when they go badly, and those who think they know better begin to attack those who manifestly do not. The descent of Barack Obama's regime, characterised now by factionalism in the Democratic Party and talk of his being set to emulate Jimmy Carter as a one-term president, has been swift and precipitate. It was just 16 months ago that weeping men and women celebrated his victory over John McCain in the American presidential election. If they weep now, a year and six weeks into his rule, it is for different reasons.

"Obama's big problem," a senior Democrat told me, "is that four times as many people watch Fox News as watch CNN."

This has to be the weirdest analysis about 0bama's problems.

almost shocks those of us from a country where a technical rule of impartiality is applied in the broadcast media.

Oh Simon, Simon. I can see you still want to get invited onto BBC talk-shows.

We haven't had an impartial broadcast media in Britain since Lord Reith died.

I don’t know anyone who supports obuma. Of course I no longer talk to idiots who support obuma. They have been ostracized from my life.

Lies and propaganda don't work if no one sees it.

“It was just 16 months ago that weeping men and women celebrated his victory ...”

I suspect a lot of the weeping was not celebratory...I know mine was/is not.

Cry for the destruction of your country, if the tears will come. Then fight to take it back.

Yeah. Newspeople allways think people obtain their political views from the news when, in fact, the gravitate towardnews that seems true.

"The slickness of campaigning that comes from a combination of heavy funding and public relations expertise does not inevitably translate into an ability to govern."

It seems I heard this point made before the election by that silly bumpkin Sarah Palin.

Well, to cherry-pick a little?

The once mighty motor city of Detroit appears slowly to be being abandoned, becoming a Jurassic Park of the mid-20th century; unemployment among black people in Mr Obama's own city of Chicago is estimated at between 20 and 25 per cent. One senior black politician – a Democrat and a supporter of the President – told me of the wrath in his community that a black president appeared to be unable to solve the economic problem among his own people.

Much as I dislike and oppose Øbozo, just what in the "H" does the President have to do with their self-inflicted wounds?

Is he supposed to jump in a phone booth, peel off his suit, and fly over the city dispensing majik?

I remember that- what can I say? The good black folks I know ( my city is 58% black ) cringe when they see that kind of junk- “makes us all look bad.”

I guess the point I was trying to make was what my sainted Mom liked to tell me, “You made your bed, now lie in it.”

They got themselves in to the jam they’re in, Duh!1 isn’t the one to get them out of it.

“This has to be the weirdest analysis about 0bama’s problems.”
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

It depends on exactly what he meant by it. I could agree with the statement as far as it goes but why DO four times as many people watch Fox news and what does the man THINK is the reason?

I think four times as many people watch Fox news because Fox seems to be the only news source on television that is making any attempt whatsoever to present both sides of the debate. It is bluntly obvious that the others in greater or lesser degree are charged with the task of electing Democrats and promoting big government actions at the expense of personal and economic freedom. Within this context the fact that four times as many people watch Fox is certainly a huge problem for Obama...but it is a problem Obama created for himself, Fox news didn’t create it and the viewers didn’t create it, it is a matter of reaping what is sown.

RE: Fox News(Glenn Beck)....just which part of this description is untrue??? Progressives just don’t like it when they are exposed.

“its message is of the construction of the socialist state, the hijacking of America by “progressives” who now dominate institutions, the indoctrination of children, the undermining of religion and the expropriation of public money for these nefarious projects.”
