"Obama's big problem," a senior Democrat told me, "is that four times as many people watch Fox News as watch CNN."

This has to be the weirdest analysis about 0bama's problems.

Lies and propaganda don't work if no one sees it.

Yeah. Newspeople allways think people obtain their political views from the news when, in fact, the gravitate towardnews that seems true.

It depends on exactly what he meant by it. I could agree with the statement as far as it goes but why DO four times as many people watch Fox news and what does the man THINK is the reason?

I think four times as many people watch Fox news because Fox seems to be the only news source on television that is making any attempt whatsoever to present both sides of the debate. It is bluntly obvious that the others in greater or lesser degree are charged with the task of electing Democrats and promoting big government actions at the expense of personal and economic freedom. Within this context the fact that four times as many people watch Fox is certainly a huge problem for Obama...but it is a problem Obama created for himself, Fox news didn’t create it and the viewers didn’t create it, it is a matter of reaping what is sown.

But it is right on the money. If people don't watch your commercials then you are in trouble. CNN is a 24/7 infomercial for the democrat party. It is the Progressive Shopping Network. So if people tune it out and prefer to watch Beck, Hanity and O'Riley then Obama is losing the battle of ideas even before it is fought.

Where this guy gets it wrong is that the triumph of Fox News over MSNBC & CNN and the victory of the WSJ over the NYT is not the cause of Obama's decline, but a symptom of it. The problem with obama isn't that people don't like the way the commercial is being present, but that having been burned by the product once, want nothing to do with what he is selling.

I wish it were true, but the fact is FOX news still only commands a tiny share of the viewing audience. It trounces all the other cable news because there’s only one FOX, only one semi-conservative outlet. FOX still lags far behind the alphabet networks in total viewers.
