To defeat Romney, we must defeat McCain.
Period.

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney suggested Sunday that his decision on whether to run again for president may hinge on the outcome of the November midterm elections.Just WOW, true conviction there! /s

Does he mean I’ll have to vote Democrat to keep Romney out of office? Okay then fine. I’ll do it but just this once.
To: rabscuttle385
What in heck does that mean? Since when do you decide if you want to run for Pres. that way? This sounds very Clinton ‘wait to see what the polls say’-esque.
With Romney I’m never sure if a Conservative Rep. tide means he would or would not run.

Liar. He’s already made the decision. He just wants to claim credit for Republican gains that would happen with or without him.

If Romney is the candidate in 2012, I will vote third party.
I will no longer vote for 2nd-hand RINOs masquerading as Republicans.

There are a LOT of threads about NON-candidate Romney.
How are his book sales?
Hopefully, his supporters such as the erudite Peter Horry
will enlighten us, and offer some understanding for Romney's delay
for a decision, yet again.
Romney: "I'm not running as the Republican view or a continuation of Republican values.
That's not what brings me to the race.
(Backstabber Romney Video, accessed 9/19/07)
versus
"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party
over to the traitors in the battle just ended.
We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged
to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support.
Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates
wouldnt make any sense at all.""
-- President Ronald Reagan
Romney: I'm very clear I think, to the people across the Commonwealth
my "R" didn't stand so much for Republican as it does for reform."
(Flip-flop chameleon Mitt Romney Video, accessed 9/19/07)
versus
"A political party cannot be all things to all people.
It must represent certain fundamental beliefs
which must not be compromised to political expediency
or simply to swell its numbers."
-- President Ronald Reagan

People will still not vote for Mormon. Last time we had to because McCain was so bad but won with Dem's vote.
Now we have Palin. Why not vote for a real Conservative?

It is so pathetic, of Mitt.
And, so like him.
No Romney has fought at D-Day. They are are timorous, margin sniffing family.
We are not in marginal, managerial times. We are approaching the abyss. Of socialism for the nest 200 years, collapse, or civil war. And Mitt...is...not...sure.
Coward.

If you gave truth serum to all potential serious presidential candidates they would tell you that they are in the process of getting their ducks in a row and not ready to make any final decision to run or not until after the 2010 midterms. There is nothing sinister here. This is SOP. Mitt Romney is no different. He is neither to be criticized or lauded for his answer.

Mitt, if your staff monitors this site, you should know that we know the Massachusetts Healthcare system is RomneyCare.
We'll be watching how the finances are in the great Commonwealth of Massachusetts, moving up to the November election.

Romney needs to have the political grace that Steve "Flat-Tax" Forbes displayed ....
If you ever lose a Presidential run, you're finished ...
UNLESS, of course, you're Ronald Regan ... and Romny's NO Regan ...

Sorry Mit, but you are the LAST person besides McCain that the GOP should run against Obama. You as our candidate would completely eliminate our biggest advantage, Healthcare.
The majority of the American people don't want Healthcare reform, and signed very similar reform into law in Massachusetts, you are persona non grata.
