Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney suggested Sunday that his decision on whether to run again for president may hinge on the outcome of the November midterm elections.

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney suggested Sunday that his decision on whether to run again for president may hinge on the outcome of the November midterm elections.

Romney, who was beat out for the GOP presidential nomination by Sen. John McCain in 2008, told "Fox News Sunday" that he's not making any calls quite yet. He said that he will wait at least until the end of the year, after the voters have a say on their representatives in Congress.

"I don't really have the pros and cons laid out yet," he said. "It's something which we won't have to decide until some time after the November elections. My guess is after those elections are over and we see where the country is, and we see the features in our own lives that may affect a decision like that, we'll sit down and make a decision."

To defeat Romney, we must defeat McCain.

Period.

The GOP Beltway is reluctantly rallying around him. Perhaps, the best way to stop Slick Willard is to let ObamaCare to pass. Then the GOP candidates will make repealing ObamaCare into an issue for the next few election cycles. With repealing ObamaCare as the #1 issue among conservatives, Romney will be hard pressed to spin support for RomneyCare and opposition to ObamaCare. It would reinforce Slick Willard being an opportunistic flip-flopper like today on Fox News Sunday. Romney said RomneyCare was wonderful piece of bi-partisan work. It was the Dems who ruined RomneyCare.

Does he mean I’ll have to vote Democrat to keep Romney out of office? Okay then fine. I’ll do it but just this once.

He knows Republicans will storm November, so he is on very safe ground here. Of course Romney will run in 2012. He's essentially been running for months already.

What in heck does that mean? Since when do you decide if you want to run for Pres. that way? This sounds very Clinton ‘wait to see what the polls say’-esque.

With Romney I’m never sure if a Conservative Rep. tide means he would or would not run.

Liar. He’s already made the decision. He just wants to claim credit for Republican gains that would happen with or without him.

The 800lb gorilla in the room is Sarah Palin backing McCain not Mitt Romney
Nobody on FR wants to talk about Sarah Palin backing McCain.

If Romney is the candidate in 2012, I will vote third party.

I will no longer vote for 2nd-hand RINOs masquerading as Republicans.

“Nobody on FR wants to talk about Sarah Palin backing McCain.”

I guess I’m nobody then. I’ve talked about it quite a bit, as have many others.

Sarah lost a point. Since Romney wasn’t McCain’s running mate, he lost 10.

There are a LOT of threads about NON-candidate Romney.
How are his book sales?
Hopefully, his supporters such as the erudite Peter Horry
will enlighten us, and offer some understanding for Romney's delay
for a decision, yet again.

Romney: "I'm not running as the Republican view or a continuation of Republican values.
That's not what brings me to the race.

(Backstabber Romney Video, accessed 9/19/07)

versus
"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party
over to the traitors in the battle just ended.
We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged
to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support.
Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates
wouldn’t make any sense at all.""

--  President Ronald Reagan

Romney: I'm very clear I think, to the people across the Commonwealth
my "R" didn't stand so much for Republican as it does for reform.
"
(Flip-flop chameleon Mitt Romney Video, accessed 9/19/07)

versus
"A political party cannot be all things to all people.
It must represent certain fundamental beliefs
which must not be compromised to political expediency
or simply to swell its numbers."

--  President Ronald Reagan

People will still not vote for Mormon. Last time we had to because McCain was so bad but won with Dem's vote.

Now we have Palin. Why not vote for a real Conservative?
