I’m still leaning DeMint, Pence, Bachmann, Palin, Hunter or Barbour.
No Mitt, Newt, Huck or any of those other RINOs, please.

Yes in primaries, NO in November 2012.

All these names other than Sarah Palin mean little or nothing to me.

The GOP Establishment wants to throw everybody they can into the mix so votes will be split for a Mitt Romney win.

That’s the way I see it. Romney is the new Dole and the new McCain and the primary process will be manipulated so Romney wins it.

Sarah is the chicken salad candidate and the rest are the chicken s*** candidates. They are pawns for Romney and the GOP political machine.

The Country would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for helping O’Bama get elected.

Then I hope you forget to vote in 2012. This country can’t survive another 4 years of O’Bama.

It’s important that we have a conservative candidate in 2012, and it’s important that we win. That means we have three possible candidates: Sarah Palin, Sarah Palin or Sarah Palin.

I’m not particular. Any one of the three is good by me.

Glad to see someone mention Hunter.

As for the others ranting: "No Newt," "Mitt I Quit" mantra, yes we get it. Sheesh! It's like listening to a bunch of three year olds whining and stomping feet.

Sarah showed up in Texas to rally the folks for Perry here in Cypress, Texas. I believe it was one of the largest crowds Perry had during his run. They did not show up to root for Perry, but to see Sarah! Next thing you know, Perry thinks he should run for Prez??? Give me a break!

“Barnes seems to have an agenda here. Either that or he’s an idiot.”

Could be both.

“Allen West”

I’d consider him. Namr recognition would have to REALLY get out there for him, to win, though.

If you really got it you wouldn’t whine about it. Fred Barnes makes it obvious that far too many Republicans don’t get it at all.

Newt Gingrich may be a smart man, but he has all the charisma of a.... of a... well, of a newt, not to mention a personal baggage train about a mile long.

I think he will do what he did last time around. Make some noises about running, test the waters by talking to some conservative leaders — like he did going on Focus on the Family a couple of years ago — and find out that people still don’t like him, and quietly drift off home to his play in his latest think tank.

As for Rick Perry. No thanks. His newly found conservatism was merely a political maneuver to outflank KBH to the right. If he was Presidential material, he would be riding high in the polls right now, but even after his victory in the primaries, he can’t crack 50% in the latest Rasmussen poll against a Democrat who is almost unknown outside of Houston. If the Tea Party decides to run an candidate as well, then he’s definitely toast.

I have no idea who the front runners will be in two years time. If Palin runs, she will be one of the favorites, and I find it hard to imagine that any other candidate will be able to match the fervor of her supporters. I am sure that Pawlenty and Romney will be in the pack, but beyond that... is it still too early for a Bush to make a comeback?

Some one mentioned Duncan Hunter. Well, wishful thinking isn’t going to get him any more votes than he got last time.

Still plenty of time left though, and I’m sure there’s a lot more to happen before anyone needs to put a check mark against a name.

I have been saying for over a year now the next Republican ticket will be Perry/Palin.

“I have been saying for over a year now the next Republican ticket will be Perry/Palin.”

I could get behind that ticket. Sounds like a winner to me.

After having watched and listened to Sarah Palin during (and after) the 2008 presidential campaign, and having just finished reading her book, I can't imagine how intelligent conservatives can seriously contemplate any other candidate for 2012.

She's a 10 story neon marquee, blazing in the night sky, yet some on our side look up and fail to notice her. It just baffles the mind.

I really like Sarah, really do and have a great deal of respect for her ability also.

But here comes the BUT. I think that she would get demolished by the Dems if she were the Republican nominee, because she quit the governorship. The Dems would run ads 24/7 “do you want a President/CiC who walks away and quits, when the going gets tough”?

I understand her reasons, but this would hurt her enough to put Obama across the finish line.

She could run as VP nominee, then in 4-8 years she would be “seasoned” enough that it wouldn’t matter that she resigned as governor.

I have been saying for over a year now the next Republican ticket will be Perry/Palin.

Outside of Texas, Rick Perry is little known, and doesn't even enjoy as much as a 50% approval rating among Texans.

He's presided over a time of good economic fortune in Texas, and had the backing of the real star of the show, Sarah Palin, in the recent gubernatorial primary, but he's no conservative.

Why you'd put him at the top of your hypothetical ticket is puzzling to me. In his two terms as governor, he hasn't accomplished even half of what Sarah Palin did in her short two and a half years as Alaska governor.

He's a professional politician, not a principled conservative, as Sarah is. Even if you were to reverse your ticket, I don't think it would work. The country isn't going to let another Texan near the White House for a long, long time to come.

In relating her thoughts about making the decision to step down in her book, Sarah said to herself, "If I die, I die." Essentially, she elected to do what was best for Alaskans, and not what was easiest, or most expedient for the political career of Sarah Palin.

That took a level of bravery and personal integrity that is virtually unknown in politics today.

The portion of her book that deals with that episode thoroughly debunks the "quitter" mantra from the left (and from some on the right). She's got two years left for that debunking message to filter through the conversations about her running for the presidency in 2012.

It's working already. Notice that I'm relaying the truth about it, as we speak.
