Eh, I’m not sure she has *that* much power. It all depends on who she picks. If she picks a likely front runner then her endorsement could push them over the top, but if she picks someone who didn’t have much chance in the first place, it’s not going to make that much difference.
Most likely, if she’s not in the race herself, she’ll hold fire until it’s clear who the front runners are and then she’ll endorse the one she prefers. Any talk of her grooming Perry for some future alliance at this stage is ridiculously premature.
As for the presidential election itself, Palin isn’t exactly popular outside of conservative circles, so her endorsement won’t mean anything (positive) to most independents out there. It will be up to the candidate him or herself to win over the wider voting public, just as it should be.
