This daily chart illustrates that the Arctic Ice Cap continues to expand its coverage and is now within less than 2 standard deviations from the 1979-2000 average.

Butttt....they just said a few hours ago....
Methane, a potent global warming gas, is bubbling out of the frozen Arctic faster than had been expected

No, no, no. This cannot be. Al Gore will loose money. What will he do now. Go away? Maybe?

You mean those cute little polar bears aren't in danger after all???

Faced with facts, the Church of Global Warming will will cry “hide your eyes faithful!” “Heed not the doubters but rely on your faith”. “Father Gore will lead you out of the wilderness and into the light”.

The poor polar bears who fell through the ice when it melted will now be frozen in place, like a bug in an ice cube.
The only solutions to this are the only solutions to everything - grow the government and send Al Gore money.

But....you see, this is actually a consequence of the Global Climate Change. Part of man's destruction of this beautiful planet is that we make weather unpredictable. This increase of the ice cap is actually one of the predicted indicators of global warming, just like the huge snow storms and blizzards. Next we'll see that the polar bear population is actually increasing and the poor baby seals are unable to survive all because of the terrible influence of man.

Two of my students, who just came back from a romantic three week cruise to Antarctica (not my cup of tea, but hey) say that the ice cap on the OTHER pole is alive and well too.

Were doomed.
You maybe, but I'm in Florida, so I'm not worried about glaciers that may sweep down over the northern U.S.
Some areas might even be improved with a mile thick glacier sitting on top of them. D.C. for instance.

The only info worth noting is what I reference below. As long as the AO stays in negative phase, the ice will continue to recover as the winds do not blow the pack ice out the Fram Strait into the open Atlantic, where it melts. This fact presents a real conundrum for the Al Gore’s. because, despite their best efforts, it appears the AO is conspiring to make the Arctic Ice grow, even though they claim man is making it melt.
Just another note, it has returned to pretty cold in Barrow, AK, Iqaluit Canada, and has remained cold in places like Yakutsk Siberia. Expect the recent spike in sea ice growth to continue for a couple weeks, which may put the maximum ice extent (which is usually reached mid March before the seasonal melt starts) much closer to the 1979-2000 ‘normal average’. That will really piss off the Goreacles.
the AO has a strong effect on Arctic sea ice motion. The pattern of winds associated with a strongly negative AO tends to reduce export of ice out of the Arctic through the Fram Strait. This helps keep more of the older, thicker ice within the Arctic. While little old ice remains, sequestering what is left may help keep the September extent from dropping as low as it did in the last few years

Doesn’t this just prove that global warming exists? Afterall to the left anything weather related must prove global warming, right?

A stray dog with snow in the fur looks on in Bucharest, Romania, Monday, Feb. 8, 2010. Southern Romania is affected by railway and road traffic disruptions and schools are closed for two days following a weekend of heavy snow storms.
