Former Massachusetts Governor and 2008 presidential candidate Mitt Romney has already decided on a timeline for announcing a possible 2012 run for the White House.

Former Massachusetts Governor and 2008 presidential candidate Mitt Romney has already decided on a timeline for announcing a possible 2012 run for the White House.

In an interview with MyFox Boston Thursday, Romney insisted he had not yet made up his mind about a second run for the White House. However, the man who finished runner-up to John McCain in 2008 has already envisioned the timeframe for a possible rollout.

Asked by MyFox Boston’s anchor Kim Carrigan if he would run for president, Romney replied: “I haven’t made that decision yet. That’s something we’ll decide when we have to, which is going to be probably at the end of the year, or even a little after that.”

Romney was on the show promoting his new book “No Apology: The Case for American Greatness.”

I'm not going to personally attack Romney, as so many are want to do. But, the reality is Romney can't win the nomination, and he certainly can't win the general election. No one who's standing in line for free cheese - as very well might be the case in 2012 - is going to vote for a guy who's a hundred-millionaire. It's just not going to happen.

There's too much populous anger out there to elect someone as rich as Romney. That's the practical reality.

of course this guy is going to run
he has deep pockets
he ran before and keeps his organization on standby
at this point he has name recognition
that all being said i truly hope that a solid conservative runs and wins the nomination.

Actually, he came in 3rd. McCain 1563, Huckabee 282, Romney 272. At least it was almost 10 times Paul’s 29.

Well did you think McCain would win the nomination last time around?

Take your time, Mitt. You can let me know in 2013, for example.

True. McCain came from nowhere to win the nomination. Of course, he benefited from an unusually weak field. However, it demonstrates that a leftist Republican still has a chance in this GOP.

Is there anything that we can do to convince him not to run?

I’ve already made the decision Mitt.

I refuse to view you as a viable Conservative candidate.

The next thing you know, McCain will be giving you his endorsement (as if he isn’t thinking of running again...).

"Well did you think McCain would win the nomination last time around?"

I honestly did, even when he was almost politically dead, and especially after Thompson's campaign fell absolutely flat.

If Romney couldn't pull it out last time around - with the backing of Limbaugh, Levin and Coulter - to say nothing of his own money, then there's NO WAY he can do it this time around.

I know the conventional wisdom is that the GOP always nominates the guy that almost got the nomination last time. I don't think that convention works this time, for a number of reasons. And, even if it did, Romney got beat by McCain AND by Huckabee.

MAKE IT NOW AND SAY, ‘NOT RUNNING’. THAT WOULD BE THE BEST ANSWER AND THE BEST FOR AMERICA.

He only lost to Huck because he dropped out earlier for the sake of party unity. The primary was over but Huck hung in for a few southern votes.

However, it demonstrates that a leftist Republican still has a chance in this GOP.

And it illustrates that if conservative votes are split among several candidates, that blue states can and will pick the Republican nominee. New York and California and Illinois are a big start toward victory.

As a factual matter, you're right. But, this wasn't like Reagan/Ford in '76, where it was actually a race with an exciting convention. Romney got SHELLACKED, I mean he was obliterated. He spent - I think - somewhere around $40 million of his own money and garnered only 270(ish) electoral votes. That works out to around $145K a DELEGATE. That kind of math didn't work last time, and it won't work this time.
