The Presbyterian Church in the United States (PCUSA) is about to release a report which denounces Israel as a 'racist' nation which has absolutely no historical, covenantal, or theological right to the Holy Land.
The report calls for the United States to withhold financial and military aid to Israel and for boycotts and sanctions against Israel.
The report also endorses a Palestinian 'right of return' and 'apologizes to Palestinians for even conceding that Israel has a right to exist.'
According to the press release, it also states that Israels history begins only with the Holocaust and that Israel is 'a nation mistakenly created by Western powers at the expense of the Palestinian people to solve the "Jewish problem"
"In 2004, this Church became the first mainline Protestant denomination in America to 'approve a policy of divestment from Israel.'
This was rescinded, but in 2008 the Church 'created a committee dominated by seven activists holding strong anti-Israel beliefs.
The lone member sympathetic to Israel, quit in protest when he saw their radical agenda.'

Since the Bible specifically says that God will bless those who bless Israel, the PCUSA is pitting themselves and their political correctness against God Himself!
Or Israel
Christianity IS exclusive.
If you don’t believe the exclusivity of Christ’s sacrifice for our sins,
you’re simply NOT A CHRISTIAN.
No thanks.
PCA also broke away from PCUSA back in the 70s (I think) because they were too liberal, theologically. Our PCA Church is quite conservative.
This is true. I don’t get why people don’t *get* that.
It’s Brannon Howse,
EXPOSING
the emergent church.
It’s not promoting the emergent church by any means.
If you would happen to go there, they're so desperate for members, they'd be thrilled to see you.
Of course such things are not “trendy” now...
Don't want to hurt anyone’s self esteem or question their beliefs, that is just not fair. Beside who are we to say that druids, wiccans and even Muslims and Scientolisit may not be right...
Piffle...

Also, note that Ms. Chesler's source is a news release dated Feb. 22, 2010 from the Simon Wiesenthal Center. I would suspect that news releases can be quoted in full on FreeRepublic or other media without fear of reprisal, as that is what the releasers usually hope will happen.
Excerpting a news article which quotes a blog which contains comments on a news release seems like a cumbersome and incomplete way of getting the story out to FReepers. Why not go directly to the source?
Thank you. I’m adding that to a new thread:

It IS totally a circus.
Appreciate that...
Thanks...
Thanks. I thought there was more but couldn’t remember.
Great Church. I go to an independent evangelical church here in the South, but I sure do miss my days at the Joliet Wesleyan Church in Joliet Mt. Loving people who try to follow Jesus’ light. Great missions too!
It's unrecognizable, from what it once was.
The Presbyterian Church USA is part of the family of liberal mainline denominations. It is another example of the liberal secular culture over Christ. These have become little more than social clubs and centers of radical liberal activism.
This was the "other" Washington paper, not the Post.
