Church stops hosting conservative group after blog complaint (from DailyKos)
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette ^ | March 04, 2010 | James O'Toole

The Pittsburgh 9.12 Project, a grass-roots conservative group, was forced to seek a new home after complaints about a North Hills church's decision to allow them to use their meeting room.

The group, an affiliate of the movement promoted by Fox commentator Glenn Beck, had staged a series of gatherings in St. John Lutheran Church of Highland. The church's meeting room was also to have been the site of a similar conservative group, the Pittsburgh Tea Party movement, last weekend, but that session was canceled due to weather . . .

The decision came after a blog post on the liberal website Daily Kos criticized the church's decision to hold the gatherings and suggested that the conservative group's views on issues such as global warming were at odds with the views of the Lutheran Church.

First and foremost so called global warming is a religious belief peculiar to the left. So is socialism.

If CO2 was a horrible pollutant, why did God put so much of it in the air. The Garden of Eden probably had more CO2 than we have today.

suggested that the conservative group’s views on issues such as global warming were at odds with the views of the Lutheran Church.

The faithless belief that God is NOT the creator, controller, director, of anything and everything related to this planet created for the habitation of plant animal and man, is contrary to every Christian principle known to man, and by virtue of that fact alone, there is NO Christian religion known to man that could even harbor such belief that the planet is running away from the control of its creator.

The Lutheran Church should put daily bird droppings in its place, in regards this issue. One might expect their be a tattletale within the particular church or community in question. Faithless little b..../b.......

Group should sue the church for discrimination.
Group may just get the whole place in any judgement.

The church has every right as a private religious entity to host whoever they want on their property. This just demonstrates without doubt whose “side” they are on. I should think other meeting places — even churches — would be available to these groups. Of course, those that host them may get their IRS tax-exempt status revoked. Such is a possibility when dealing with an increasingly totalitarian styled regime such as is Washington DC.

Let’s not confuse the Lutheran Church with the ELCA. There are millions of Lutherans belonging to other denominations of the Lutheran Church who do not worship at the altar of man-made global warming. The ELCA is an apostate offshoot of the Lutheran Church...

The Lutheran Church is not at all conservative as a whole!

Do the KOS kids complain when their fearless, feckless leaders all run for the speeches and photo ops at black churches prior to every election?

Perhaps they might see a problem with that, maybe.

As the last days approach,

the Apostate Church “emerges”.

If the church had refused to let the local ACORN chapter use the room would you be recommending the same thing?

I wonder if that church knows just what kind of stuff Daily Kos endorses.

Aren't they the ones who wished Tony Snow to die of cancer and rejoiced after he did?

Russ, believe me I am not blaming all Lutherans for the actions of this one church. We unfortunately have Fr Phalager(sp) in the Catholic Church.

B16 really has to have a talk with that guy.

I grew up in the area of where the church is, and spend most of my time less than 5 mins away. Went to school across the street from that church, and the area is somewhat conservative. Jason Altmire is the Congresswoman (which is partially why I say somewhat conservative area). I’m not sure about the Tony Snow thing but wouldn’t surprise me.
