Reagan on the $50?

It doesn't buy what it used to, but will this swap-out be granted?
Remember when Grover Norquist was on that tear to have one thing in every state named for former President Reagan? So adorable. We thought he mostly gave up but in truth, we quit paying attention when the plan to add Reagan to Mount Rushmore fell through.
It's an election year, though, so any and all ways for Republicans to ostentatiously honor the nation's 40th president must now present themselves and be heard. Rep. Patrick McHenry, a Republican from North Carolina, wants to boot Ulysses S. Grant from the $50 and give that space to Reagan.

While I believe Reagan would be a vast improvement over that corrupt druken slob Grant, I think this is just a “feel good” ploy. We have far more essential things to be concerned with at the moment. If we don’t change them then no amount of currency will be worth the pictures on them.

How about the $20? Andrew Jackson, well known for his fights against national banking, must be rolling in his grave about being on one of the most widely distributed Federal Reserve notes. Why else do you think it was done? It was a poke in the eye to those who fought the banksters.

Grant: got a bum wrap.
Jackson: did hate Indians.
South: did lose the CW. Would win CW2 if that happens though.
$1 coin: even though it's RR, I don't think it will work; the Ike dollar didn't last long at all.
Zimbabwe: we don;t want to be them.
Commode: suits Barry 0 well.
Looks to be a publicity stunt to a large degree - should have been done 5 years ago.
I still vote for either dumping Hamilton and RR goes on the $10 bill or RR on the $100, Franklin back on the half dollar and bye to JFK.

I think that would be awesome. Reagan was a much better President than Grant.

I’d like to see RR on every piece of U.S. currency.

Either works for me. I’ll most likely never see a real $50 bill again in my lifetime, but what the hey, LOL!

Put Reagan on the $20 bill. Andrew Jackson doesn’t deserve it.

You know, in this debate, I’d be willing to give Jefferson a pass. The party he knew has NOTHING to do with the knuckleheads today. Jefferson wrote the `Declaration of Independence`, and was a truly great man.
