CNN: Bunning Had 'Devastating Effect In Real World,' Backdown Creates 'Lifeline'

"Campbell Brown . . . the only non-partisan cable news anchor at 8 pm." -- CNN description of Campbell Brown show

"Non-partisan": yeah, right. The hit that Brown, with help from reporter Dana Bash, put on Jim Bunning this evening was worthy of that hyper-partisan guy over at MSNBC in the 8 PM ET slot.

Bash first narrated a classic of the liberal media genre: an anecdotal story of someone allegedly hurt by hard-hearted Republican policies. Bash claimed that "in the real world," Bunning's position is having a "devastating effect" on people like single mother Madonna Alvarez.

It got worse . . .

Typical BS. Never mind that that Reid could have avoided all of this by scheduling a freaking VOTE instead of waiting until 4 days before the deadline to try to ram something through. No lets ignore that stellar piece of government responsibility and harp on how the mean old Bunning hates unemployed people...

Why do ‘journalists’ produce hit pieces? Is this what they are taught in journalism school?

Journalists want to "make a difference", and you can't "make a difference" by simply reporting the news.

Hit pieces are attempts to "make a difference".

"devastating effect" on people like single mother Madonna Alvarez.

What, they don't have welfare in her hometown of Juarez or Mexico City?

When the GOP regains power, Job #1 is breaking the back of the Federal employee unions. Bush made a huge blunder in not ripping them apart.

With all I was hearing about this Bunning guy, I thought he was involved in a scandal...turns out that he’s just some crackpot who expects us to figure out how we are going to pay for things before we spend the money :)

Pretty soon even Obama is gonna ask the CNN anchors to clean off all the lipstick from his ass.

CNN is downright embarrassing these days - the “least-trusted name in news” by a country mile.

Take note all!

This is just a preview of what to expect if the Republicans take over the house and senate this November. 24/7 sob stories from then until the 2012 election about how the Republican congress is starving babies, kicking grandma out on the street and of course minorities are hit hardest. They tried it after the 1994 election and managed to save Bill Clinton's rear end, so they'll put it in overdrive to save their messiah Obama.

Campbell Brown is married to Bush supporter Dan Soren, isn’t she?

“Job #1 is breaking the back of the Federal employee unions.”

IIRC, JFK signed an executive order permitting them to unionize. The GOP ought to cancel the order already!

Well beats giving the money to Wall Street bankers. And in any case extensions or not it's all just welfare and if you weren't giving them this we'd be giving them real welfare. If they didn't have this then they might start to actually look for any job they could get, including jobs illegals have. Then they might get upset and start agitating for illegals to go home. Which would up set a lot of rats that depend on them for votes. Can't have that now can we? Bread and circuses for all!

“When the GOP regains power, Job #1 is breaking the back of the Federal employee unions. Bush made a huge blunder in not ripping them apart.”

Our Federal Republicans should be working and campaigning on ripping the unions out of the Federal Government.

Our state and local Republicans should be doing the same thing at the state and local level.

No tax payer funded job should be allowed to be unionized. We could IMMEDIATELY improve public education is we rooted out and destroyed the Teachers Unions.

This should be one of the centerpieces of the GOP agenda in 2010. Unions destroy everything they touch. Their days of providing some value to the middle class is long gone. They are corrupt, socialist organizations now that do far more harm than good.

This is the PERFECT time do this as unions are now primarily representing public sector employees. They have already destroyed virtually everything they’ve touched in the private sector.

CNN: you stupid, evil mofos. A single person insisting the law be followed concerning about 10 billion dollars has "devastating effect in the real world" but Obama and his cabal's loading the nation with 14 trillion of debt and his plans for taking over much of society is what? Hope and change?

Ok, I buy that. Sounds like this is the rationale they use. However, the assumption is, they know better than everyone else. We can see the results of that assumption.
