One of the more bizarre rows in American politics has resurfaced as the country prepares for crucial mid-term elections this year.
The so-called 'birthers' movement, which questions whether Barack Obama was born in the US and is therefore a legitimate president, has cropped up on the campaign.
A representative in Arizona's state senate has even introduced a 'birth certificate bill' because she says constituents are so worried.
The White House has consistently dismissed the issue. Authorities in Hawaii have provided an electronic record of Obama's birth because the paper copy was destroyed in a fire which wiped out much of the state's archives.
But J D Hayworth, who is running against former presidential candidate John McCain in the race to be Arizona Senator, questioned Obama's credentials on a radio show.
McCain, who lost out to Obama in 2008, criticised Hayworth for giving oxygen to the 'birther' debate.
And supporters at one of Hayworth's rallies openly questioned the president's right to be in office.

Hawaiian officials follow their laws when it suits them.
thanks!
You’re welcome. Looks like the ONLY source is Jumping in Pools.
thanks, reminds me of the ‘flood’ that destroyed all the records of Stanley Ann Dunham’s ‘work’ in Indonesia...
okay — I have always said that he looks exactly like his white grf, Stanley Dunham. So if you’re saying that the grf was the real father, who was the black mother?

thanks; didn’t notice that; blogger should have made that more prominent.
I think we can be forgiven for missing the “satire” tag. In reading the comments, none of them noticed either.
Good work linking those two pictures! The infant BHO II looks like FMD and not BHO I. BHO I probably took one look at the infant and walked away.
It is an interesting fact to me that human newborns look so much like their fathers. Of course the ones that did were more likely to survive. As they grow older they lose that quality.
The article is so full of lies I didn’t bother to read the rest. The DOH of HI provided the electronic copy?? And the paper records were burned in a fire?
Sheesh. The media are just lapdogs and handmaidens of the politicians.
AFAIK that is a total lie.
look carefully, the article URL contains the word ‘teaser’ -that’s not SATIRE, the author is LAUGHING at the situation.
Ever heard of IRONY?
The word irony can be understood by its formal definition. First, according to the Oxford English Dictionary, the word irony has two different denotations. The first one is, A figure of speech in which the intended meaning is the opposite of that expressed by the words used; usually taking the form of sarcasm or ridicule in which laudatory expressions are used to imply condemnation or contempt.
I see that now. But what I was addressing was the tag on the jumpinginpools article on the house fire. At the end there is a “satire” tag.
woops!
thanks, I didn’t notice that.
I would like to point out that when the book was written, the article mentioned was the only one the author was aware existed. That paragraph was included, not as a reminiscence, but as an explanation for anyone who might have kept or gained access to the original article. It's nothing but a cover story.
Letters that came to light later, published after the book itself, testimonials for Barack Hussein Obama 'Senior', written during the period 1960/61 do not mention a wife and child either...but as the author of 'Dreams' was not aware of their existence, no explanation was/could be provided.
Scroll way down to view the letters:
...just thinking on it some more...clever ploy, to label IRONY as SATIRE, don’t you think?
Yes. I do. Then again, how many people even know what irony even means? English class isn’t what it used to be.
They are called "cuckoos". Your analogy fits.
Care to explain?
I see no resemblance.
