Seismologist expert says there is “no relation” between the Salta, Argentina quake and the Chile quake, they’re on different tectonic plates. Chile is on the Naxca plate; Argenitina is on the South American plate, according to Alejandro Guzman, Director of the National Institute of Seismic Prevention.

Yes, it could.
oh snot! Mother Nature sure is pissed!

However, I would not think that one could say that it was not directly or indirectly related to the Chile Quake.
Subduction thrust quakes involve normally two plates...lol
In this case the south american and nazca.
Salta is in the NW corner of Argentina. Concepcion, Chile is quite a bit to the South and west.

That’s kind of what I thought, too, but the gist of what I got from that guy is that the Salta quake is just along a fault line that’s well on the South American plate. I don’t know the seismology, so I just present it as the “expert” says it.
She said their house is coming apart, it is a very old historical type home. I told her I would be putting my things in a POD a going somewhere else.
Think she may put seat belts on her bed and recliner.
To me(layperson)the effects are obvious...lol
Yes, I have noticed them, I think three this past week or so. I read a brief note a few months back that they are trying to tie them to the oilfields, and the emptying of them.
Not sure about all that hopefully that thinking does not gain hold.
Let's blame Zero first!
Zero's fault! :D
Awesome site. Thanks for posting.
Viewing that site will keep you up at night. There’s even a nuclear incident reported in CT.
I heard about that rumor. Not sure what to make of it, and not counting it out.
No, you are not the only one. There seems to be a certain type of Freeper who never has an important or relevant thought related to any given post but just can't resist posting adolescent attempts at humor. It dilutes and disrupts the very purpose of this forum.
You are welcome. But not for the future sleepless nights. :-)
lots of them hitting now. Chili had something like 53 aftershocks, some significant.
A lot of activity now.
I wouldn’t want to be in California right now. But I would like Pelosi there.
Take care california Freepers
Now that's a keeper!
Those tectonic plates have been active lately!
Erlier repots were an 8.8...HUGE difference.
