February 23, 2010 NAACP to Honor Van Jones as 'American Treasure'

White House green jobs adviser Van Jones quit the post last year after he was dogged by past remarks and associations, but that isn't stopping the NAACP from awarding him one of its Image Awards White House green jobs adviser Van Jones quit the post last year after he was dogged by past remarks and associations, but that isn't stopping the NAACP from awarding him one of its Image Awards -- and even calling him a "American treasure."
Jones, who served as an adviser to the White House Council on Environmental Quality, generated mounting criticism last summer, first for calling Republicans "assholes" during a videotaped address earlier in the year and then for signing a petition in 2004 supporting the "9/11 truther" movement, which believes the Bush administration may have been involved in the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks.
The latter development, which came on top of several others, was perhaps the most devastating and led to calls for his resignation.
But Jones still has his share of outspoken supporters, and one of them is Benjamin Todd Jealous, president and CEO of the NAACP.
"Van Jones is an American treasure," Jealous writes in an opinion piece posted at CNN.com. "He is quite simply one of the few Americans in recent years to have generated powerful new ideas that are creating new jobs."
Jealous cites Jones' book "The Green Collar Economy," his role in passing the 2007 Green Jobs Act and his work with low-income people in Oakland, Calif. At the time of his resignation, Jones said the controversies had become an unceasing distraction, and he assailed his critics.

Van Jones became a revolutionary communist following the 1992 L.A./Rodney King Riots (58 dead)

"Jones was arrested during the L.A. riots and spent a short time in jail. "I met all these young radical people of color," he recalls, 'I mean really radical: communists and anarchists. And it was, like, "This is what I need to be a part of." I spent the next ten years of my life working with a lot of those people I met in jail, trying to be a revolutionary.'..."
By the late 1990s, Jones was a committed Marxist-Leninist-Maoist who viewed police officers as the arch-enemies of black people, and who loathed capitalism for allegedly exploiting nonwhite minorities worldwide. He became a leading member of Standing Together to Organize a Revolutionary Movement (STORM), a now-defunct Bay Area Marxist-Maoist collective that was staffed by members of various local nonprofits, a number of whom had ties to the Ella Baker Center.
In the early 2000s, Jones and STORM were active in the anti-Iraq War demonstrations organized by International ANSWER, a front group for the Marxist-Leninist Workers World Party. STORM also had ties to the South African Communist Party and it revered Amilcar Cabral, the late Marxist revolutionary leader (of Guinea-Bissau and the Cape Verde Islands) who lauded Lenin as "the greatest champion of the national liberation of the peoples." (In 2006 Van Jones would name his own newborn son "Cabral" -- in Amilcar Cabral's honor.)"

From David Horowitz's FrontpageMag.com /DiscoverTheNetworks.org:
"Throughout its history, one of RCP's [Revolutionary Communist Party] principal objectives has been to foment civil unrest in the United States. The most notable example of such efforts occurred on April 29, 1992, when RCP members looted and trashed the downtown and government districts of Los Angeles, triggering the infamous Rodney King riots. During the days immediately preceding the violence, RCP -- which maintained close ties to the L.A. gangs known as the Crips and the Bloods -- had circulated throughout South Central Los Angeles a leaflet featuring a statement by RCP National Spokesman Carl Dix, titled 'It's Right To Rebel' -- a quote popularized by Mao Zedong.
Encouraged by Dix, RCP activists helped lead the riots that would leave 58 people dead, more than 2,300 people injured, some 5,300 buildings burned, and $1 billion in property damaged or destroyed. On the ten-year anniversary of the rioting, RCP member Joseph Veale fondly recalled the violence as 'the most beautiful, the most heroic civil action in the history of the United States.'"

NAACP to Honor Van Jones as ‘American Treasure’
Let’s BURY HIM!!!
Worrying about the NAACP debasing itself is like worrying about Courtney Love getting a reputation.
Did someone say ‘treasure’? I thought we were to be ‘spreading the wealth’? /s
I don’t think the NAACP can get any more debased.
You must see this short video...

Thanks, ETL. Checking it, now.
..this is the NAACP’s way of saying “in yo face Whitey”...of course that organization would be bankrupt if it weren’t for Whitey’s money...they shake down everybody from the DNC to the Ford Foundation, and nobody’s got the balls to stand up to them.
Bury Mumia. Make Jones dig the grave, since he’s fond of the Worker’s Party.
Shouldn't it really be the "NAACCP"
National Association for the Advancment of Communist Colored Persons? ;-)
Great article on the Cloward-Piven strategy Here Check out the articles on the left side too: Cloward-Piven, Part I, Part II and Part III
"Cloward and Piven focused on welfare, voting, housing and immigration rights. But leftist positions on any issue, whether championing equal rights, abortion rights, education rights, rights to health care, rights to housing, legal protections of antisocial or even criminal behavior, to the point of absurdity, are intentionally divisive. They add new fiscal and regulatory burdens on government, and set new precedents that undermine the limited government concepts embedded in our Constitution, while conferring discriminatory special benefits on legally defined groups the rest of us are forced to pay for. They deliberately put our society at war with itself. And as Cloward and Piven made clear, the true purpose is not even to help those groups, but rather to duplicitously enlist them as part of an offensive to collapse our society from within!"
"The strategy of forcing political change through orchestrated crisis . the Cloward-Piven Strategy seeks to hasten the fall of capitalism by overloading the government bureaucracy with a flood of impossible demands, thus pushing society into crisis and economic collapse."
"By advocating massive, no-holds-barred voter registration campaigns, they [Cloward & Piven] sought a Democratic administration in Washington, D.C. that would re-distribute the nations wealth and lead to a totalitarian socialist state."
Clinton on Motor-Voter Day, 1993:

None of us knew about Cloward-Piven in the late 60's except the Far Left. I bet Bill and Hillary knew about them then. . .
Pretty scary stuff. . . Good reads though and Pass them On! . . Education is the key. .
The NAACP should be abolished. It has lived beyond its usefulness and has become a negative force in America. People like Julian Bond are racists and leftists who betrayed the dream and betrayed our people.
It will be interesting to see how. The NAACP has been feeding at the bottom of the Marianas Trench for at least a couple of decades. I think you can go only so low, then you can strive to maintain your level.
If an organization digs low enough and keeps digging, it may find itself approaching the surface on the other side. I think the NAACP likes wallowing too much to try climbing.
