Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) announced the members of the Senate Republican delegation to Thursday's White House health-care summit, and the list includes Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.).
The Arizona Republican is not known as a health-care expert. But as the Republican presidential nominee in 2008, McCain offered a sweeping reform plan with some elements that overlap with the Obama proposal, and others that would have represented a radical departure from the current system.

Rename, repackage, rewrite it a tad smaller, and sell another pig in a poke.
Tennessee has joined several other states in trying to pass a Health Care Freedom Act. NO COLAs for granny, retired Military or retired fed employees. BIG NEW fees for Tricare for Life retired over 65 Military's secondary health ins. (DOD bill already passed, delayed but goes into effect 2011)

TRI CARE FOR LIFE This from a google search:

This option would help reduce the costs of TFL, as well as costs for Medicare, by introducing minimum out-of pocket requirements for beneficiaries. Under this option, TFL would not cover any of the first $525 of an enrollees cost-sharing liabilities for calendar year 2011 and would limit coverage to 50 percent of the next $4,725 in Medicare cost sharing that the beneficiary incurred. (Because all further cost sharing would be covered by TFL, enrollees could not pay more than $2,888 in cost sharing in that year.)

Congress plans to block Tricare fee increases

By Rick Maze - Staff writer, Oct 7, 2009
Tricare fee increases imposed last week by the Defense Department will be repealed by a provision of the compromise 2010 defense authorization bill unveiled Wednesday by House and Senate negotiators.
Snip
The fee increases were announced on Sept. 30 and took effect on Oct. 1, but the defense bill, HR 2647, includes a provision barring any fee increases until the start of fiscal 2011.
Snip
Retired Army Maj. Gen. Bill Matz, president of the National Association for Uniformed Services, said the announcement of fee increases was shocking considering that the Obama administration promised earlier this year to hold off on any new fee Tricare fee increases until fiscal 2011.
President Obama and DoD assured NAUS and the entire military family earlier this year that there would rightly be no increases in any Tricare fees in fiscal 2010, Matz said. We took them at their word, and I cant believe that a co-pay increase like this was allowed to go forward, he added.

Call it coincidence or bad timing, but many physicians in Tennessee began taking a 14 percent cut for seeing TennCare patients on the same day Gov. Phil Bredesen announced deep cuts in health care spending.

Our Doctor in the House switched parties in Dec. Not that it will save him in November . . . . just sayin’
Am hoping they are all wearing a wire so that when O thugs corner them privately they’ll have it on tape.
In a word...Yes!
Two senators are invited...Still waiting on the HOUSE list.
He may be. I won’t put it past him because right now he’s acting against his nature due to the primary race.
But one thing McCain has been consistent about is playacting the role of great conservative every year leading to his re-election.
Obama wants to use Republicans to rebuild his reputation. McCain wants to use Obama to patch over his shoddy conservative credentials long enough to win. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he acted like the second coming of Rush Limbaugh in that meeting.
Doesn’t change my position which is not only anti-McCain but anti-the usual grandstanding washington games. I don’t support this meeting and I’m furious they think we give a damn about this pueppt show and will award them accordingly in polls.
Can anyone name something that McCain has done since Obama was elected that has disappointed them? As far as I can tell, McCain has been one of the most stridently opposed to Obama’s agenda. If I’m wrong, someone tell me otherwise.
Like him or not, McCain is well-known and highly trusted by seniors from all ideological perspectives. He is a good addition to this contingent.
I wish freepers would think more strategically. We accomplish nothing out of power and in the wilderness. Building a conservative majority coalition will mean the inclusion of moderates. Otherwise, the RATS will control the levers of power.
They are idiots to even go.
WIth Beck exposing him as a Progressive on National TV and at CPAC, McCain may begin to think a little more about what he is doing and the harm his actions have caused.....One can only hope.
My goodness, both of you joined FR practically in the same month!
No, the GOP has to go. Otherwise, our no-show will become the issue and support for BOcare will rise - and a no-show will make BO a sympathetic figure.
Obama can pass his agenda any time.. he has enough votes and does not need ANY republicans.
So, it doesn’t matter which Republicans show up for this “summit”. They are only there to provide Obama and his progressive cohorts a cover for when things tank.
And?
ANYTHING this government does, be it Democrat or Republican, is theater. It’s all a show for the mindless fools who follow their lead blindly and think they are saving us all.
Pfffft....they all need to be replaced.
