Poll: Reid could win in Nevada — if tea-party candidate runs

His favorable rating stands at a sparkling 35/58 and previous polls have found he’s all but finished if forced to run head to head against Sue Lowden or Danny Tarkanian. But toss a little third-party tea on the gears and magical things start to happen, my friends. Which, of course, is precisely why Palin’s been nudging tea partiers lately to pick a side. As Groundskeeper Willie would say: I warned ye. Didn’t I warn ye?

It is exactly what every member of the left is praying for and willing to finance. If we will all just recall that we didn’t get this screwed in one election cycle and we work to elect the most “electable” conservative candidate, we have taken a big step forward. The “progressives” (Maoists in hiding) had to work for nearly a century to position themselves to take over the Democrats. Conservatives don’t have quite that much work to do to clean the GOP, but it will take more than the next couple of elections. Patience and perseverance.

The Tea Party is dead if they are responsible for putting this nightmare back in office

No, I think the morons who will vote for him after all that has happened, are responsible. If they can’t see Reid for what he is and what he represents they deserve what they get. Of course, the rest of the country will suffer for their stupidity.

The guy in Nevada? He's a shady real extate developer and so is most everybody else involved in the Nevada Tea Party registered for the election.

The possibility of this unknown nobody guy even getting 1 % of the vote is nil.

I am saying in general conservative third parties either in the form of tea party, constitution party etc will bleed off votes from the GOP. in many races particularly close ones it will translate into Dem wins.

There are many indications on FR and other sites that the “Tea Party” Candidate in NV are RAT infiltrators.

Do a google on the people involved. Absolutely no history ANYWHERE with connections to the Tea Party movement or the RNC or to anyone.

I predicted a long time ago that Soros would fund a third party run. Not that it was a hard one to make, anyone could see that coming

“Its Dems. with a patsy.”

I would change the spelling a bit. It’s Dems with a pasty. The Dems are always trying to hide what is obvious to the rest of us.

well i have predicted and will continue to predict that in any race where the tea party or conservative third party runs they will pretty much hand the election to the Dem

I'll second that.

Then it would be a darn good idea for the GOP to run conservatives and not RINOS to limit the number of races where conservatives need to run 3rd party.

So true.

Tea Party people should and must run in GOP primaries. If their arguments are persuasive, they'll win. If not, then they accept the results and back the winner against the Dem.To do otherwise is destructively self indulgent.

What is everyone's goal? I would think to preserve the republic from the leftward movement of Obama and the Dems.

That has always been true, therefore the GOP candidate must adhere to true GOP principals and not be a RINO.

This third party “Tea Party” candidate seems to be unknown to Tea Party people in NV. I would guess that SEIU will run ads for the candidate and that someone is going to have to sponsor ads on behalf of the real Tea Party disavowing this candidate.

I would doubt he will get anywhere near 10%.

In a perfect world, your scenario is correct. But the GOP largely excludes these candidates from the primaries. I.e. NY 23. The GOP is responsible for this mess. They can end it whenever they want.

Its always been that way; Libertanians have killed off quite a few GOP candidates in recent years with 1 or 2 % of the vote; Georgia Senate race was one, for example.

In this case, Reid is stuck around 40 % so the third party will have to get close to 10 % of the vote. That will never never happen. A couple well placed ads will knock this guy off the block.

you never know
in MA a variation on this theme
Deval Patrick (D) is at a whopping 36%. the GOP candidate Baker is well funded and would have been a shoe in except that a former Dem now Independent current treasurer named Tim Cahill is also running
they split the anti-Deval vote
Deval could win with 36% and right now is AHEAD of bothe of them in a three way matchup. obviously it is early anything can happend but it goes to show how these things can spell disaster

well that is what the primary is for
I vote for the most conservative guy in the GOP primary
if he/she wins awesome! if not then i see who the most conservative person in the general from the two parties who have a shot at winning is GOP or DEM hmmm let me think here... going to be the GOP guy most likely. besides a vote for a GOP congressman even if not 100% conservative is going to be a vote to get rid of Pelosi.

I wonder what Beck would do?
If the Republicans get a conservative candidate to run against Reid, the third party Tea Party candidate is a problem only second to Reid.
Maybe the third party guy can get some money from the DNC. For the DNC, it would be money well spent.
