We have to be careful of Tea Partiers IMO. I’m not going to go third party.

I don’t think it means people actually want Ron Paul as the candidate, but rather, they want the ideas that he has been a major proponent of.

I think it is a very good sign that these people are concerned about constitutional government. I also think it’s a signal that philosophical conservatism is front and center.

“group of Tea Party types trying to get organized who are using the Tea Party movement for Paul who claims he started the Tea Party movement”

I have been to two TP local rallies and never heard Ron Paul's name mentioned. This will kill the Tea Party movement. Tea Partiers I know will drop out if this is true.

- sounds like DNC has a hand in this

Inevitably, any political group will get corrupted over time, no group is immune.

Tea Party people have stopped listening to garbage like this. They get their news from their neighbors, Free Republic and other non-media spin sources.

That is why the media and the left is furious. We're not controllable in the old ways anymore. And we're bigger than they are.

We win. They lose.

You have to have a candidate with carisma. Gotta be young and telegenic. If not, no point running. McPain, McDole etc.

Bless his heart, but Ron Paul couldn’t beat his way out of a paper bag.

My dog has a better chance of being President that Paul ever does.

Site says 2395 votes cast 2400.......... out of 10,000 in attendance voted.

It seems to beg the question:

Why if other candidates could be voted for, and were on the agenda, why did they fail to vote?

Apparently not everyone votes. They don’t handout ballots so you have to go find the spots to vote. The corner is reporting that people booed when the results were announced.

exactly, the masses that don’t follow politics closely vote for silly things like looks.

I have always been able to pick the winner of Presidential races based one who was better looking.

Reagan was better looking that Carter.
Reagan was better looking than Mondale.
HW Bush better looking than Dukakis (barely)
Clinton better looking than HW Bush.
Clinton better looking than Dole.
W Bush better looking than Gore.
W Bush better looking than Kerry.
Obama better looking than McCain.

"I think it is a very good sign that these people are concerned about constitutional government. I also think it’s a signal that philosophical conservatism is front and center."

That's precisely it.

It isn't Ron Paul as "a personality" that they are voting for, it's the message and philosophy of Constitutional government -- plus someone who doesn't just talk the talk but instead walks the walk. For many years, Ron Paul been the only one delivering this message. Of course any political group wants more than one person to pick up that ball and run with it -- including Ron Paul, himself -- and finally this next election (God Willing) he may have some new company with the message in Congress, including his son.

Engineer Soldier is right. The youth of this country who are the energy and life of campaigns, don't want their grandaddy's RNC. They have ideas of their own and Ron Paul's freedom and Constitutional government message resonates with them, in ways no other Republican or Conservative's does.

Ron Paul was the main speaker at our tea party. There was a huge crowd, and a lot of people — of all ages — carried Ron Paul signs. It’s my understanding that he was going to hit at least one more tea party after that (maybe two more, but memory doesn’t serve me very well regarding that day — it was tax day).

It was a bittersweet event. I was happy the American people were rising up and disturbed by the Ron Paul frenzy.

I do fear we’re going to squander this movement if Paul supporters glom onto it and claim it as their vehicle.
