In an article about Thursday's apparent suicide by a pilot in Austin, Texas, the folks at Time.com made two seemingly intentional links to the Tea Party movement.
First, the piece began:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The long, rambling rant posted on a website eerily reflected the angry populist sentiments that have swept the country in the past year. In it, a Joe Stack inveighed against intrusive Big Brother government, corrupt corporate giants, irrational taxes, as well as the "puppet" George Bush.
(See the making of the Tea Party movement.)
Then, after the third paragraph which concluded, "Toward the end of what appears to be his final note, Stack wrote, 'Well, Mr. Big Brother IRS man, let's try something different; take my pound of flesh and sleep well,'" the folks at time advertised the following article by the magazine with a hyperlink highlighted in yellow:
(See the making of the Tea Party movement.)

Not very subtle, is it?
Let's be clear that tying this person to Tea Parties or conservatives is preposterous. After all, his suicide note ended:
The communist creed: From each according to his ability, to each according to his need.
The capitalist creed: From each according to his gullibility, to each according to his greed.

You know a lot of conservatives and/or Tea Party members extolling the virtues of communism while bashing capitalism?
No...I don't either.
Shame on Time for doing this.

Are you suggesting Communists can't multi-task?
How come this guy didn’t get a visit from Secret Service???
So next we will hear that Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan and Amy Bishop are out-shoots from the Tea Party as well???
I don’t know. I think that guy in the bottom photo originally appeared in some photos from a site called Zombietime or something that would show the most extreme of the left wing protesters. I think it got picked up around the web.
The media WILLFULLY COVERED UP these types of protesters when they would cover the “peace rallies”.
One nut (sometimes an agitator) makes a racist placard at a tea party protest and the whole movement gets slurred. Communists fund Code Pink and ANSWER and those groups meet with terrorist sympthizing organizations, SILENCE.
He was for ObamaCare, name one Tea Patriot who is for that?
Pray for America’s Freedom
The guy was just a nut, I’m not sure he belonged to any group.
His complaint letter didn’t make much sense to me, either.
He gripes he didn’t make the money in Texas that he did in Ca, well duh!
Texas is a right-to-work state, it’s cheaper to live here and Texas and homes aren’t 2 bedrooms on a postage stamp lot for half a mil.
He also says 10’s of thousands die because of insurance companies...how did he figure that non-sense?
Everyone here in the US can be treated, insured or not, heck, even insurance doesn’t assure you will see a doctor! (my insured son didn’t after sitting in the ER for ‘bout 12 hours)
My son didn’t see a doctor in ER in part because so many uninsured use the ER like a clinic. UK, all are insured but they don’t see a doctor because the ER is too full there.
All this makes me wonder if a large part of the problem isn’t a shortage of Doctors, and that would have multiple causes.
College costs and greedy lawyers would be HUGE part the problem there, I would think.(college wasting money to pay looney lefty professors for all sorts of foolishness)
Anyhow, just ranting...the guy was looney tunes and didn’t make a darn bit of sense to me.
I don’t think it’s right to pin this loon to any group, he was nuts-o all on his own.
Anyone who relies on Time Magazine for their information about world events is too stupid to find their way to a voting booth, problem solve in a capacity that would enable them to perform any worthwhile occupation, manage any element of marksmanship, mechanics, or logic, nor eloquently argue any point.
They have made themselves meaningless with their deceits and half-truths.
One would think that they would actually read the man’s letter before they start blaming the Tea Party movement. This is going to be another example of conservatives grabbing their ankles and allowing media spin to write history.
The whole opus was a mish mash of self pity and blame everyone but me. That is definitely a liberal mind.
Wait until those in the movement come to the conclusion that ending their own lives in frustration helps nothing and some of them begin looking elsewhere. Then they/we will all be labled with the ilk of Timothy McVeigh.
It will be up to the real grass roots folks who have "had enough" to stay the course and use the Constitutional tools we have to really affect change in this "once great Republic"! And it won't be accomplished by trying to "make a name" or a "statement" about yourself.
The Democrats and Republicans better pay more attention to the quiet ones out here!
Joe Stack suffered from a catastrophe of faith.
His writings tell us that his faith in government collapsed. So he was a progressive.
A hard core statist who in the end discovered the fraud of statism.
The inevitable result of a faith which worships the false god of state.
THEY DID!!!!!!!!
He was a registered Dem voter and let it be known he hated Bush as this idiot did.
It’s pure insanity to even suggest that this guy, the AL shooter and the DC shooter were right wing.
The radical left reminds of a child who can’t face the real world and so they go into a fantasy world.
very true.
One only has to read his comments before he did this to see he was a far left loon and there is no way they could even suggest he was right wing and to say so is pure insanity
