Few people would argue that air travel doesn't stink on same days, but what about their fellow passengers?

Well, the smell of one passenger was so bad that he was apparently asked to leave a recent Air Canada regional airline flight.

The Air Canada Jazz flight from Charlottetown, on Prince Edward Island, was preparing for the two-hour flight to Montreal when passengers on the plane reportedly complained about the odor coming from one of their fellow travelers. The crew eventually decided to ask the man to leave the plane.

I can’t tell you how many times I wished an airline would do this.

Are carry-on deodorants banned?

I remember meeting a former professor of mine on a flight back to the university town. He had gone on a visit to Europe. He had brought back Limburger cheese and by the odor it was obvious.

I’d like to dismiss the old ladies that pour on the chemically-laden cologne (because their sense of smell has diminished and they don’t know when to stop) and come and plop next to me at mass. I’ve had to sit in the vestibule a couple of times to escape the scent. I asked the priest if they could make a scent-free pew. I think he thought I was joking.:)

Obnoxious odors are tolerable over short periods of time, in places where people can move around. But on a plane, locked up, no open windows?.....people can start to get sick from the smell.

I say buh-bye, smelly guy.

When staying in Bangalore, don't put your valuables in the hotel safe, they're much safer hidden under a bar of soap in the shower.

I always think, “how did we survive back before people regularly bathed?” I never think living in the middle ages would have been that fun. I would have fainted from the smell.

It's no joke when you're allergic to it. And a fragrance free pew isn't enough. Those ladies use enough to stink up the entire sanctuary.

Some years ago, A&E had a series called “Airline.” Basically it was a day in the life chronicle of events at various Southwest Airlines gates. Several of the stories involved passengers who smelled badly. Those passengers were either barred from boarding or taken off the flights. In some cases, the airline would clean up the guy, get him fresh clothes, then let him on the next available flight.

I have seen churches deal with this problem by putting notices in the program handouts asking members, men and women, to refrain from wearing cologne, perfume, aftershave, etc to church..............

Back then, everything else smelled the same, so you wouldn’t notice (and you’d be used to it). Our “modern” civilization, with its ever-more-hypersensitive reaction to the biological aspect of our lives, has trained us to believe that we should strive to be as artificial as possible. I’m not saying that’s a bad thing, but we’ve lost sight of things that didn’t really matter once upon a time.
