Former Vice President Dick Cheney came out in favor of repealing "Don't ask, don't tell," (DADT) today.
Cheney said that the support of military leaders had convinced him that it was time for a change.
"Twenty years ago the military were strong advocates of 'Don't ask, don't tell.' I think things have change significantly since then," Cheney said on ABC's "This Week."
I think that society has moved on. It's partly a generational question," he continued. "When the [Joint] Chiefs come forward and say 'we think we can do it,' is strikes me that it's time to reconsider the policy."

I have heard that many soldiers have had to
undergo surgery to repair their rectums.
This is the silent surgery that is never
mentioned. Ask any doctor who has served
in the military.

I understand, however it is hard to explain that to a liberal. To them social experimentation is social experimentation.
i am very disappointed in cheney.
I just lost my dinner.
Attacking our military with the irreversible onslaught of homosexuals is about as bad as it gets, evidently Cheney is not a conservative in some of the most important areas.
Rather broad brush you're using, gomer. Not all of the Chiefs agree with Soetoro, Mullen, and Cheney.
This is not social experimentation. Gays are already there. Its just now you will know positivly who they are.

Of course he does, why not?
I cannot believe that Cheney would betray the military this way when they are in the middle of two wars that he and Bush failed to finish. At a minimum, he is making a big mistake. The Joint Chiefs do just what the President tells them. This is no reason to reevaluate a policy like this.. To engage in a social experiment with the finest military in the world and in the middle of two wars is really contemptible.
Some people here expect %100 agreement %100 of the time, or they are RINOs.
Who gives a care about his family life, we are trying to save the American fighting forces from ruin.
Try and get some sense of scale here.
Seems as though some of the GOP are deciding to throw in the towel and join the liberals.

quickly
in survival training we have to share sleeping bags and get body warmth you think I want to do that with homosexuals especially if they have been looking at me anyway
will they then ask for homosexual parties and parades on base?
what if they do and they are refused?
will the chaplain be forced to marry two of the same sex?
will they get housing?
what if a private is having an affair with a SGT or officer and special treatment is given to his boy friend?
what if we are in Afghanistan and that boyfriend is not called on to check out an IED
will special promotions or medals be given?
will they be allowed to go and hold hands or kiss off duty in the bar on base?
imagine that you go for a drink and two of them are in the bar kissing.
will they be allowed to kiss or have sex on base?
if not and they do then what if they are charged, will the homosexual groups come in and say this is not right?
what if and anyone who has served in a fighting unit knows this then there is always fights between friends so what if I get into a fight wiht a homosexual and then he states that I beat him because he is queer, will I now face hate crimes and lose my job and pension because of his lies ?
this is for them to say I can fight and die for this country but I cannot marry or adopt kids.
it’s just another step for them to further their agenda and if anyone cannot see this then they are really dumb.
They say they want their life private well don’t ask gives them that so why are they now saying they want the world to know they’re queer?
for years they have been saying that their sexual life is private and they want the Govt out of it and now they want the Govt to make their private sexual life open.
we do nto share showers with women because women feel uncomfortable with being looked at in the shower so why does a woman or man now have to share a shower with a queer where the normal guy or gal feels uncomfortable
shall we now have cross dressers serving and shall we now have them be able to cross dress on base after work?
crap I coudl go on and on with all of these points and yet they cannot even think of 3 good points to overturn this and show me how this will improve the military.
I’ve not even gone into what we think of them or what will happen if they have sex and get caught or get caught looking at other marines

Being born black is not under anyone’s control, it is unchangeable, and it is values neutral.
Homosexuality is a chosen act, disgusting, immoral, filthy, and people who engage is such acts are notorious for other criminal behavior. Homosexuals do not belong in the military.
Due to being raped?
100% agreement
No. You can dispute the size of a tax cut or Supreme Court Justice, but when you start taking a whack at the U.S. Military which keeps us all safe you have crossed a line.
