Former Vice President Dick Cheney came out in favor of repealing "Don't ask, don't tell," (DADT) today.
Cheney said that the support of military leaders had convinced him that it was time for a change.
"Twenty years ago the military were strong advocates of 'Don't ask, don't tell.' I think things have change significantly since then," Cheney said on ABC's "This Week."
I think that society has moved on. It's partly a generational question," he continued. "When the [Joint] Chiefs come forward and say 'we think we can do it,' is strikes me that it's time to reconsider the policy."

It’s time for Mr. Cheney to retire.
famous last words.
The military is not the place for social experimentation. Especially in wartime.
...and for every globalist, new world order Cheney worshiper on this site,...well,...I hope you guys can finally move on from the very people that have tried their damnedest to take this nation down.
Cheney is compromised on this issue since his daughter is lesbian. This is one of the few chinks in his armour!
Guess his daughter’s lifestyle choice has rubbed off on him.
I would just say this is a dangerous argument since it was used to say why intigration of the armed forces was a bad idea.
He’s wrong, but you don’t have a daughter who’s gay, either. Don’t throw his baby out with the bathwater. This is not the sum of the man.
The Joint Chiefs are nothing more than politicians wearing uniforms.
It is not they to whom you should be listening, Mr. Cheney.
changed, what the hell has changed?
how about asking the men and wmen who actually serve and who woul;d have to put up wiht this law instead of asking generals who will never have ot share a shower with homosexuals or put up wioth homosexual parties in your room
nothing except that we have had generals who care more about PC than then men they are supposed to lead.
FT Hood shooting showed that. Right after the shooting we had a general saying how he hopes this doesn’t affect diversity in the military
Must be great to live in that little world where one doesn’t have to put up with the laws you make
Did anyone notice how he never brought out 3, just 3 instances of how this if overturned would improve the military?
I can point out 20 issues and problems off the top of my head and yet the homosexuals and perverts cannot even point out any good issues
“One issue I want to clarify concerns President Clintons dont ask, dont tell, dont pursue military policy. I believe that the Clinton compromise was a step in the right direction. I am also convinced that it is the first of a number of steps that will ultimately lead to gays and lesbians being able to serve openly and honestly in our nations military. That goal will only be reached when preventing discrimination against gays and lesbians is a mainstream concern, which is a goal we share.”
Sincerely, W. Mitt Romney
No, race is inherited and unchangeable. Homosexuality is behavior and is acquired.
Well there was Michael Jackson.
I know what my rationale and reasons are for not repealing DADT.
As a MOS, would you mind giving me some statements so that I can use to debate with the libs and freaks that I am surrounded by?
correct it is high time to ask those who serve and would have to share showers, sleeping bags and rooms with homosexuals who dance around letting everyone know their a homo
the joint chiefs are political and care about their own futures.
amazing how those like me who have served on the large majority do not want this and yet we have elected official which will not get affected by this telling us we have to have it
you can bet that this will be an election decider for many especially the likes of vets and the military including the blacks who serve and voted for phony
I have yet to hear anyone point out 3 good points for overturning this and tell me how this will improve the miltiary and yet there are many problems it brings.
Sorry Dick. . .you’re very wrong on this. . .it not only is an issue with regard to the military but our entire national heritage. If we are no longer a nation founded upon the self-evident truths of “the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God” then we have no rights at all. Homosexuality is a behavior. . .a dysfunctional behavior that is contrary to the laws of nature. This dysfunctional behavior is not a basis for human identity or rights. . .we ALL have rights owing to our status as having been CREATED by God. My rights and identity are not based upon my heterosexual behavior either. Our rights are based upon OUR COMMON essence as human beings and they are bequeathed to us by God. . it is what binds us together as a nation. Forcing the idea upon humanity that an exclusive behavior is the basis for rights and identity is A DESTRUCTION OF THE BASIS OF OUR NATIONAL IDENTITY. . .we lose the essence of what we all have in common.
