Pennsylvania Public Radio's Scott Detrow reports from a conservative event in Harrisburg:
Wurzelbacher touched on several different points during his speech, and many of them were surprising. He said he doesnt support Sarah Palin anymore. Why? Because shes backing John McCains re-election effort. John McCain is no public servant, he told the room, calling the 2008 Republican nominee a career politician.
I pointed out hed just be plain old Sam Wurzelbacher of Ohio Joe the Plumber wouldnt exist without McCain. His response was blunt. I dont owe him s. He really screwed my life up, is how I look at it.
Wurzelbacher said, McCain was trying to use me. I happened to be the face of middle Americans. It was a ploy.
Lol, neither you nor I know exactly what might have led Joe to make these remarks, though you certainly pretend to know. A lot is missing from this very short story.
btt
I doubt that Joe was that uninformed but even if he was, it was his responsibility to bring himself up to speed.
Well, yes, I was being sarcastic. I was only going by his own words though. He is the one who said his life was ruined and I quote, I dont owe him s. He really screwed my life up, is how I look at it.
Early odds:
"Our Sarah" posting to Facebook on this matter: 25-1
"Our Sarah" writing 'Joe the Plumber Rocks' on her hand: 50 - 1
To me, there's just no excuse for doing this in a primary when a more conservative candidate is running for the office. Sarah should stay out of Arizona.
Joe is right. He doesn’t owe McCain sh*t. Why should Joe endorse or support McCain, especially against a real conservative like Hayworth? That was the context of that remark as it related to Palin’s support of McCain. She does owe McCain something. He picked her as his running mate and gave her national exposure. She is now a wealthy woman profiting from that experience.
Lol, you live in a fantasy world. Yeah, a guy standing outside on his lawn suddenly is pulled into a national, presidential campaign and he's supposed to do a cram course (on his own) that prepares him for any and everything. Even the candidates with years of experience aren't ready for anything that might arise, as Juan McCain so aptly demonstrated on more than one occasion. And as Sarah and Obama and Biden also demonstrated many times. Or maybe you didn't notice a single gaff or misstep from any of the four on the two major tickets, since you demand nothing but perfection from Joe the Plumber.
No more time for this nonsense. Your statement above is total and complete nonsense.
I only voted for McCain after he selected Palin as his running mate. All along I had planned to write in Duncan Hunter’s name. Looking back, I wish I would have done just that.
btw, I believe that Obama’s election is a blessing in disguise. We now have a real opportunity to shake things up in Wash. We don’t need every office to be held by a conservative, just enough to control the agenda. My guess is those far too less than perfect can be dragged along with good leadership and our constant vigilance.
I think you misread my point - a politician can certainly do things for the people. Things like working to return our country to the constitutional republic that it once was instead of the quasi-communist hellhole that it's become. Or maybe he could work towards eliminating the plethora of federal regulating agencies like the EPA, OSHA, NEA, EEOC, and the rest of the overbearing thugs that serve only to hinder freedom and economic growth in this country. Or maybe he could work to lower and flatten taxes so that all the deadbeats that routinely vote for democrats could have some 'skin in the game' like the rest of us. Or maybe he could work to eliminate the welfare program that has served to make unemployment a somewhat lucrative option.
Yes, I believe that a politician could "work for me".
Defeating McCain would be a giant step towards conservatives getting back control of the party.
Oh really? I guess I have more faith in the American people than you do. He is responsible for his actions. I have nothing against Joe the Plumber but he is the one who is willing to discard Sarah Palin for one decision on her part. Unless of course, he never liked her in the first place and this gave him an opportunity to dump on her. At any rate, he sounds like a whiner.
I agree and if I lived in AZ, I would be campaigning overtime to help JD Hayworth get the nomination.
Okay, I agree you there. I got thrown by the “me” thing. I would look at it as what can they do for my country. Fulfilling their oath to uphold the Constitution benefits us all.
Lol, and your great faith in the American people brought you President Barack Obama.
BTTT
Go Hayworth! Kick "Honorable" John's sorry arse to the curb!
No, my great faith in the American people is going to correct that mistake. That was one lost battle in a continuing war to preserve liberty. The optimism Reagan talked about and displayed is my optimism.
The whole thing in a nutshell in 27 words.
Thanks for that link. Much appreciated!
