Joe the Plumber goes rogue (Blasts Palin)

Pennsylvania Public Radio's Scott Detrow reports from a conservative event in Harrisburg:

Wurzelbacher touched on several different points during his speech, and many of them were surprising. He said he doesn’t support Sarah Palin anymore. Why? Because she’s backing John McCain’s re-election effort. “John McCain is no public servant,” he told the room, calling the 2008 Republican nominee a career politician.

I pointed out he’d just be plain old Sam Wurzelbacher of Ohio — Joe the Plumber wouldn’t exist – without McCain. His response was blunt. “I don’t owe him s—. He really screwed my life up, is how I look at it.”

Wurzelbacher said, “McCain was trying to use me. I happened to be the face of middle Americans. It was a ploy.”

IF this accurately portrays the interview, poor Joe sounds like he is entering "voices under the bed" territory. McCain didn't put him on the evening news after confronting Obama, and Joe never ran away from cameras and interviews that I can recall. This being such a case in point. He sounds like he is cracking up.

I wonder how long he will be calling himself "Joe the Plumber", like Dick the Bruiser.

Joe the plummer is a guy who said something on camera America agreed with. He’s a non-entity to me. Never saw him as anything other than a plummer.

In fact, I look at him a little as the Cindy Sheehan of the Right.

Joe has a valid and good point on Sarah Palin's support of McNasty.

Time to dump McNasty and go with JD Hayworth.

I admired Joe for snapping back at obama...obama deserved (and still deserves) it.

But Joe is merely a symbol and not an important player in the conservative revolution. He's an "agree-er" not a leader.

I trust Palin enough to know that she has a good reason for her to endorse McCain't...maybe a sense of obligation, who knows. But I think she thinks it's the honorable thing to do, and "honor" is something that is sorely lacking in government these days.

McCain't will probably lose the election, it's time for him to retire.

Either way, as Governor or Alaska Sarah wasn't a RINO, and her speeches don't reflect any RINO influence, so I'm guessing it's merely an obligation she feels she must honor, and that's good enough for me.

If anyone has any proof otherwise, post it.

But either way, what Joe the Plumber thinks is immaterial...he's not the E. F. Hutton of the Republican party.

Joe the Plumber is again right on the mark. And yes, McCain did use him in his campaign ads and in personal appearances on McCain's behalf.

Joe feels the same exact way I do about McCain. He must be defeated in the primaries.

Joe’s is the type of gut reaction that many conservatives have to McCain and right or wrong some are going to react negatively to Palin’s campaigning for him.

It’s Joe’s opinion to express and he’ll just have to take his lumps when people don’t like what they hear.

I agree that McCain is no public servant. I agree that JtP doesn’t owe McCain s***. I disagree that McCain screwed up his life. I agree that McCain used him—that’s politics.

Whatever the legitimacy of his anger; it is his. Am surprised that more here are not at least equally - if not somewhat - angry at Sarah for joining McCain. Which is her choice, of course; and perhaps a necessary one, if she is to advance in the graces of GOP.

You're kidding, right? I didn't know McCain controlled the media.

BTW, Joe didn't "say" anything. He asked a question and it was Obama's answer that caused the ruckus. McCain did try use him but as usual McCain failed to do it properly.

I met and spoke with Joe the Plumber. He is a bright guy who can speak to a number of issues. I know he understands the immigration issue better than most politicians I have met, including what an amnesty is and what we should do about the illegal immigration issue.

I’ve become a very critical reader/listener of the news
and other reports from the Politico/NYT/Alphabet networks etc.

That being said, just what did Joe say that many of us wouldn’t
say? I too don’t think McCain should run. He should just
fade into the sunset gracefully but his ego wont let him.
Joe WAS just a campaign stop news blurb nothing more than
a voice of the common man.

Palin has yet to distance herself from McCain on the amnesty issue or to recant her Univision interview. It is her position on this issue that I am concerned about more than her endorsement of McCain over a true conservative, JD Hayworth.

Well, all I know is that I cannot and will not vote for anyone who supports Juan McLame after his pathetic run for the White Hut. Sarah has no business out in Arizona trying to prop up this sorry loser, McLame. Why is she doing this, when there are other candidates running for that office that most conservatives would agree that they would be a better pick. Why is she doing this? Sarah why? You had so much promise. Why support Juan? Just don’t campaign for anyone if it can’t be for the conservative. She fell half way down my opinion ladder already.
