Well, when people look around them, even bleeding heart liberals, they don’t see unemployment dropping.
When Carter was in there, I thought he was doing a pretty good job, that it wasn’t HIS fault the country was tanking. I was 17 years old.

Those couple million census workers should make the bottom line look better... for a while, anyhow.

I am out of work and had an interview today for a database position. Found out there were 14 people interviewing for it. It is disheartening to see so many people for 1 job!
It’s tough out there.

after 2 months of going up when it wasn’t supposed to, it goes down when it isn’t supposed to.
I’m betting that the economy sucks and jobs will go down again in about a month after stores restock.

The apparent disconnect between the recent drop in the unemployment rate (and the corresponding rise in jobless claims) can be easily explained. Thousands of Americans who had been unemployed for an extended period simply stopped looking for work, figuring it was hopeless. When they stop searching for a job, they fall off the rolls.
That’s why the real unemployment rate in closer to 17% instead of 10%.

This was a sharper drop than expected. Gee, MarketWatch, what was the number you expected and why did you expect it?
Hmmmmm???
