As the blizzard-bound residents of the mid-Atlantic region get ready to dig themselves out of the third major storm of the season, they may stop to wonder two things: Why haven't we bothered to invest in a snow blower and, also, what happened to climate change? After all, it stands to reason that if the world is getting warmer - and the past decade was the hottest on record - major snowstorms should become a thing of the past, like Palm Pilots and majority rule in the Senate. Certainly that's what the Virginia state Republican Party thinks: the GOP aired an ad last weekend attacking two Democratic Congressmen for supporting the 2009 carbon-cap-and-trade bill, and using the recent storms to cast doubt on global warming. (See pictures of a massive blizzard hitting Washington, D.C.)
Brace yourselves now - this may be a case of politicians twisting the facts. There is some evidence that climate change could in fact make such massive snowstorms more common, even as the world continues to warm. As the meteorologist Jeff Masters points out in his excellent blog at Weather Underground, the two major storms that hit Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington, D.C., this winter - in December and during the first weekend of February - are already among the 10 heaviest snowfalls those cities have ever recorded. The chance of that happening in the same winter is incredibly unlikely.
But there have been hints that it was coming. The 2009 U.S. Climate Impacts Report found that large-scale cold-weather storm systems have gradually tracked to the north in the U.S. over the past 50 years. While the frequency of storms in the middle latitudes has decreased as the climate has warmed, the intensity of those storms has increased. ..

Yawn..
There truly is no limit to the B.S. these guys will spew out.
How a colder planet proves the planet is hotter.
Such stupidity... Guess when we have a summer with no summer and crop failures due to cold rainy weather that will be global warming also...idiots
Those dumbasses will not admit to the global warming scam until a f-ing glacier is about to roll over their sorry butt.
Is there "some" evidence that it could not?
Is there any evidence that anything humans do makes the least bit of difference?
Is there evidence that humanity caused the last ice age?
More un-news at the un-biased Time.
They speak and the rope closes around their necks.
Here in Bucks County, PA I’ve got about 15” of fresh Global Warming since last night, on top of the remaining 10” of Climate Change left from the weekend. Can’t wait until Nuclear Winter gets here - maybe I can work on my tan....
The warmistas hope nobody remembers what they've babbled about for the past decade - CO2 increases driving temps up, the melting icecaps, the sea level rises, the droughts, the poor baby polar bears. Soon enough, we'll see some government grant-financed science in support of the new propaganda line.
Yes, our latest models show that we have *always* been at war with Oceana.
Oh yeah! Back in the olden days, they didn’t have blizzards.
Oh that’s right, they had blizzards but not as bad as the blizzards are now that we have global warming.
Watching these snowstorms, it seems to me that God Almighty is just spitting on Algore and his ilk.
He is never impressed by the audacity of mankind.
ok..i’ll believe in anything once..
So what’s the excuse for the same storm as it passed through Chicago yesterday?
The Blizzrd watch went up then came down and then went up for specific areas. I woke up this morning and the blizzard watch was cancelled sometime over night.
When it was all said and done, the snow prediction was correct but the blizzard never materialized.
Same storm. Did GW moderate or enhance it?

This just proves that liberalism is a mental illness
So when it gets hotter in the Summer we can say it is because of Global Cooling. It’s clear to me that Alice has left the Wonderland and is alive and well in the academic world.
