Well folks, just when you thought that there might be some hope that the anti-gun faithful members of the Maryland State Senate had learned their lesson about proposing nonsense bills like bans on so-called assault weapons, they prove otherwise.
Senator Mike Lennett (D), District 19, Montgomery County, has introduced SB516, the Maryland Assault Weapons Ban of 2010. His co-sponsors are a veritable Who's Who of the anti-gun wing of the Senate.
Now's the time to head this thing off before the hearing is even scheduled and let the members of the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee know that Maryland citizens will not tolerate such an egregious infringement on their rights in the name of political grandstanding.

And so it begins........
Disarm those that disagree with gubmint.
The gangbangers (allegedly the target) will always be able to get their weapons.
Gun control in an election year - those democrats want to lose BIG!
In addition the following is also happening in Maryland:
License required to purchase a firearm
Delegate Sandy Rosenberg,(D), District 41, Baltimore City has introduced HB820: Firearms safety Act of 2010. The text isn’t officially attached to the bill as of yet but here’s what we think will be included in the bill.
Notation on your drivers license denoting you as legally able to buy a gun.
Mandatory fingerprinting to be licensed to purchase a firearm.
Increased fees for the processing of gun applications.
There are potentially some other noxious things included in the bill that refer to dealers surrendering their records of sales to the Maryland State Police, thus providing them a registration list of even non-regulated firearms.
We expected this to land in the Senate first and believe we will see it there by Tuesday morning. Make no mistake, this bill would fundamentally change the nature of gun ownership in Maryland unlike anything we’ve seen in over a decade. It is our responsibility to shut this affront to our liberties before it ever sees the light of day in a hearing.

If I were they, I would want complete disarming of the populace. They must have been reading the rationale behind the 2nd Amendment.
ALL weapons are “assault” weapons....That’s why they’re called “weapons”.................
Call the members of the House Judiciary Committee below and tell them, “NO!” on HB820.
When they unveiled HB1446, the ammunition log bill last year, we shut it down in 24 hours and it was never even scheduled for a hearing. If everyone does their part today, we could see similar results.

See, that’s the problem - they CAN’T define an “assault weapon” in any way that actually affects the guns they want to without banning ALL guns, which would tip their hand.
The VPC actually had a memo where they stated that “public confusion was essential” in getting these gun control laws passed.
ping
Ping.
CALL THE LIST OF MARYLAND LEGISLATORS EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT FROM MD
WE NEED EVERYONE’S SUPPORT TO KILL THESE 2 BILLS
Bring it, I’m bored.
This kind of crap is why I moved to Virginia 13 yrs ago.
The people who vote for them have no problem with it. The majority of Marylanders neither want nor deserve freedom. Unfortunately, they screw it up for those who still think that rights mean something. The cretins who introduce and vote for this sort of thing will have no problem getting re-elected because their voter base is just a worthless as they are. The majority of Marylanders are those people Sam Adams was talking about when he said
If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you; May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.
As is my Walther P22. What’s more dangerous than a .22 caliber handgun with a re-loadable magazine? Nothing.
