Andrea Mitchell, identified by NBC News as the network's Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent, this morning joined in the attacks on former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin over the 2008 Republican party's vice-presidential nominee's use of notes written on her hand during an appearance at the Tea Party Nation convention in Nashville this past weekend.
Appearing on MSNBC's the Daily Rundown, Mitchell lampooned Palin by holding up her hand with scribbling on her palm while castigating Palin for criticizing Barack Obama for his reliance on TelePrompTers.
Co-host Chuck Todd, who can usually be found on his knees in front of Obama, surprisingly tried to defend Palin by saying, "We've all done notes."
Mitchell was having none of that, though and insisted this was a capital political offense.
attacked yesterday by Democratic National Committee spokesman Hari Sevugan for having the words, "Energy, Tax Cuts, Lift American Spirits" written on the palm of her left hand during her Tea Party appearance.
Palin responded to her liberal critics yesterday by writing "Hi Mom!" on her left palm during a campaign stop for Texas Governor Rick Perry's reelection bid.
Ha Ha Ha!
Newsreaders have their teleprompters built right into the desk, so that the viewers have no idea that they are just reading reading reading, ALL THE TIME.
They are NOTHING. Nobodys. Pot...Kettle...You know.
Who cares what Mrs. Alan Greenspan thinks?? The last time that Andrea Mitchell Greenspan was in any way relevant, whatsoever, was when she reported from the Republican Convention in Saint Paul, Minnesota, and everyone threw balloons at her for a really long time.
Maybe she should draw a picture of two teleprompters on her hand. :)
There’s so much material to work with!
This could get really funny.
Mommy—mommy-—come here, quick. There’s a talking gremlin with blonde hair on the TV screen.
All sound like Presidential topics to me!
Now if she had written 57 states I would have my doubts
Trying to find Mitchel’s e-mail address on MSNBC website. Anyone here know it? I’d like to send her a “pithy” comment.
LOL
Can you imagine what the commentary by the MSM would be had either Michelle or her hubbie BHO been discovered with crib notes on their palm??
"Wahhh! She not Christ incarnate! We'll never beat Obama! The MSM will never love us!...Wahh!"
It shows pure genius of playing the MSM like a fiddle and gaining more ground with middle America. You overestimate the media and underestimate the intelligence of our country.
My wife saw that report this morning. She’s not very politcal, but said “What’s the big deal? I write reminders on my hand all the time.” I’d bet there’s millions of women out there that do that. Mitchell is an idiot.
I remember a friend's teenager practicing a speech he was doing on the Lewis and Clark expedition and he talked about their "corpse of discovery". I expect that from a sixteen year old.
I dunno. Reagan was given hell because he wrote everything on 3 x 5 index cards. I think as a speaker you have to go with what works. Sometimes I do completely impromptu talks; other times, when I want to get quotations and #s right, I use prepared notes.
Writing :"Energy, Tax Cuts, Lift American Spirits" on one's hand, is hardly indicative of one's worthiness to be President or not.
Very true. But he didn't need one when he schooled the Republican representatives. Let's be honest. I wonder how the President would be treated if it were found he cribbed notes on his hand for a speech?
THERE IS A *HUGE* DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AN OUTLINE OF NOTES OR A FEW BROKEN THOUGHTS WRITTEN ON ONE’S HAND AND A TELEPROMPTER WITH SOMEONE ELSE’S WRITING STREAMING WORD-FOR-WORD.
Pathetic.
LoL love Palin’s comeback. I feel like it should be a tradition from now on: to always have a shoutout written on her hands. :)
Just what did Ahhhhndrea Mitchell say about the corpseman?
