Jeri Thompson blasted Fox News host Chris Wallace on the Fred Thompson show today, calling his joke that he hoped Sarah Palin would sit on his lap during an interview with him "inappropriate" and "insipid," and demanding "action from Fox.
Thompson, the wife of the former senator and presidential candidate, told POLITICO's Jonathan Martin that the remark, to Fox Business's Don Imus, amounted to misogyny, and that she was tired of seeing it from "these dirty old men" on Fox, a network that she said ought to be respectful of conservative women.
"Sarah Palin is now part of the Fox family," Thompson said on the show. "She deserves you all watching her back -- and I do not mean it literally."
Wallace, she said, "owes her an apology."
"Not only is she a national figure she deserves the respect that any other man would get in that situation," Thompson said, saying that her inbox was full of complaints from conservative women over the segment, and that the Palin group Team Sarah, as well as the anti-abortion Susan B. Anthony List, were dismayed by the segment.
"I hope that Fox does something about this, and they actually take this on, because it is not funny," Thompson said.

What did Breitbart say?
My apologies to Chris Wallace......He deserves one if this is true......
True. If Wallace had come prepared, he could have used that, saying something like "Only if you get an Democrat ex-governor on your lap. Now would you prefer Napolitano or Blago?"
Sometimes, the way to deal with rudeness is to step on their toes.
Exactly. It's just simple common (or so I thought) decency.
I seriously doubt any of these posters on this thread would take to kindly if somebody on this thread referred to their wife by name in such a manner (by name).
Perhaps a little lap dance is in order from some of these poster's wives.
giggity giggity...
Seriously!!
Imus is the dude who was rude, but THAT is expected from shock jocks, that's their job.
“I like Jeris tude. She puts up with zilch.”
She’s a smart, beautiful woman. And she’s absolutely right here.
Some folks here are being well jackasses. Imagine if your mom, spouse or sister were running for a political office.
Would you be comfortable with them being verbally assaulted like that in an interview? Think about it.
While it is certainly worth noting that Wallace didn't initiate the inappropriateness, Wallace could have given a more appropriate answer.
Perhaps he was caught off guard.
I agree! It’s just rude.
However.. some women mind, some do not.
It's presumed that the stinking article posted here MERITS being posted, I had NO idea that the incident NEVER ever happenned.
FR has been a total waste of my busy schedule this morning -- I planned to spend some time getting caught up on current events, and instead I stumble into this LONG messagethread which purports absolutely libelous stuff about Wallace that NEVER occurred.
I don't know why FR has left this thread up, it's a complete WASTE of time.
Chris Wallace NEVER stated what the article says he stated.
The entire allegation is BOGUS.
I presume that he has to appear on the shock jock Imus show, because it's on the FOX Biz Channel.
I've had it with FOX News, I'm not tuning in again, not until a couple months before the 2012 election.
What an utter WASTE of time that FOX and all their fake news is, and anyway, I wouldn't listen to that rude dirty olde man Imus even if I were PAID to do so.
I could actually see Palin responding to this by coming onto a Chris Wallace interview and sitting on his lap in such a way that embarrasses him in a good natured way but in a way that takes away the controversey! Certain women could do this and actually get away with with it!
What offends me the most is that there are over 250 posts about a nothing subject. Get a life and get over it.
In the real world, we sometimes kid each other and joke around.
But because Palin has been treated like dirt and in a very sexist manner, it would be a good thing for Wallace to apologize.
Which he probably will.
Come on, pissant. You can't really be dense enough that you don't see a HUGE difference between posts on an internet forum and comments made on a television news broadcast, can you?
No need to be so worked up, however. Kind of a waste of emotional energy over something so insignificant, don't you think? :)
Tina Fey could get away with that, I guess.
Kind of a dumb idea, if I do say so myself.
Unlike liberals, Jeri and Sarah are more proof that conservative women can be beautiful and intelligent at the same time.
Maybe a case COULD be made for burkas in the USA after all... ;-)
