Jeri Thompson blasted Fox News host Chris Wallace on the Fred Thompson show today, calling his joke that he hoped Sarah Palin would sit on his lap during an interview with him "inappropriate" and "insipid," and demanding "action from Fox.
Thompson, the wife of the former senator and presidential candidate, told POLITICO's Jonathan Martin that the remark, to Fox Business's Don Imus, amounted to misogyny, and that she was tired of seeing it from "these dirty old men" on Fox, a network that she said ought to be respectful of conservative women.
"Sarah Palin is now part of the Fox family," Thompson said on the show. "She deserves you all watching her back -- and I do not mean it literally."
Wallace, she said, "owes her an apology."
"Not only is she a national figure she deserves the respect that any other man would get in that situation," Thompson said, saying that her inbox was full of complaints from conservative women over the segment, and that the Palin group Team Sarah, as well as the anti-abortion Susan B. Anthony List, were dismayed by the segment.
"I hope that Fox does something about this, and they actually take this on, because it is not funny," Thompson said.

Maybe Sarah’s hubby will 8itch slap him when he sees him! Or better yet maybe Sarah will!
I've heard him mention his ranch before but I never knew there was more to it.
Thanks for setting me straight.
I dislike like him now just a little less than I used to.

Yeah, rude is cool.
LOL!
I think the comment by Wallace was extremely inappropriate.
^^
I agree, but Jeri should keep out of it.
So did I, and I let FOX know that....
I seriously doubt he'd want the likes of Hillary sitting on his lap..
Wallace typically acts in a respectful manner, so why talk with Imus who has no class or manners, or audience???
&&&
I agree. I fail to understand why any decent person would go on that jerk’s show.
(Yeah, yeah, Imus defenders, I know about his ranch. And that’s good work, but he is still a lowlife jerk.)
Agree. Wallace was a cad. Reading the title I was expecting someone picked up on the request youa “you betcha” this morning, because it emphasized something the left could rag on. Wallace should apologize for both.
Normally I like Jeri Thompson, but she is coming across as a femi-nazi on this one.
Wallace is an anchor and basically a hard news guy and certainly one of the foremost interviewers of politicians in America — and a remark like this made on TV is incredibly inappropriate and well beneath the dignity of his place at FOX.
I realize that we might not want to get too caught up in our own right-speak campaigns, as many have said here, but this is a specific guy with a specific job saying something that is so far out of bounds it’s hard to believe.
You’re a gentleman and a scholar. Actually, I don’t care much for his on-the-air persona either, but he really does a lot of good for those kids. That has to count for a great deal.
Amen.
Yeah, let’s treat all women like whores - We’ll use Bill Clinton’s standards as our own.
It WAS rude and disrespectful of him. He was talking a real woman not someone sporting a tramp stamp for all to see.
It might have sounded better in context but I doubt Chris should talk about a fellow employee like that.
I watched Fox News Sunday and it seemed Wallace is smitten with Palen. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him behave as he did with any other female on his show.
It was cute actually, he’s always reserved and business like.
Maybe FOX should just go Howard Stern and have naked women do the news. Heck, minor naked girls doing news would be perfectly legal apparently, go for it FOX.
