Power plant explosion in Middletown,CT

Emergency crews are on the scene of an explosion and fire at a power plant in Middletown. There are reports of mass casualties, but there are no confirmed details.
The explosion happened at the Kleen Energy natural gas plant on River Road around 11:30 a.m.
Two LifeStar helicopters are on the scene.
There are reports that homes near plant have been damaged by the explosion. It was felt as far away as Wallingford, North Haven, North Branford and Cheshire.
No other details were immediately available.

MIDDLETOWN - Witnesses and emergency response authorities said as many as 100 people were injured and an undetermined number may have died when a massive explosion, which homeowners more than 10 miles away and mistook for an earth quake, blew up a power plant being built on the Connecticut River in the southern section of Middletown.
An hour after the explosion and what is believed to be the Kleen Energy Systems plant on River Road, emergency rescue personnel were continuing to arrive by vehicle and helicopter. Helicopters were airlifting victims to area hospitals.

FOX showed an image, it reminded me of Chernobyl, anyone know what fuel the plant uses? Its not nuclear I do believe.

Another reason to use Coal. The others are cheap to build and plentiful supplies of clean burning coal that produces precious CO2.
