The Kennedy political dynasty is shaking in the aftershock of U.S. Sen. Scott Brown’s earth-shattering election, with a new poll showing U.S. Rep. Patrick Kennedy losing ground as he faces a well-financed GOP foe backed by Brown’s top strategists.
The WPRI-12 poll showed the Rhode Island Democrat with a 56 percent unfavorability rating in his district - a negative that grows to 62 percent statewide.
Only 35 percent of voters in Kennedy’s district said they would vote to re-elect him. Another 31 percent said they’d consider a different candidate and 28 percent said they would vote to replace him, according to the poll.
Republican John J. Loughlin II, a veteran state lawmaker, formally announced his campaign yesterday against Kennedy, saying the son of liberal icon Edward M. Kennedy is out of touch with Rhode Island voters as he seeks a ninth two-year term

As an ex-resident of RI - (got out to Texas based on taxes and overall cost of living), Patches Kennedy has done a great job of promoting his family name; kissed all the old ladies at the nursing homes; yet done absolutely nothing for Rhode Island - in between his booze/drug rehabs.
A total complete wash-out for RI! (Much the same way that Reed, (the weasel), and Whitehouse, (the partisan pompous) have been for the Senate.

I saw an interview with an older woman during the election from the Boston area. She said they could finally vote for someone other than Ted Kennedy. Before that it was impossible to unseat him or even think someone else could run against him. Their money and friends made sure of that.
The tone in her voice said it all. Pure disgust.
One of Uncle Teddy’s last wishes was that Caroline become a Senator, so that there would be a Kennedy in the U.S. Senate for many years to come.
Uncle Teddy didn’t get his wish. Not to trample on a man’s grave or anything, but, how in the heck could Ted Kennedy have thoughts of more Kennedys in the Senate, unless he truly felt that they are a royal family of some kind; that they are entitled in some way??????
