I’m reminded of a sci-fi story which describes what happens when aliens make contact. Everything’s going smoothly and there’s about to be an early evening press conference on the White House lawn. The aliens take one look at the evening sky and instantly vanish. The president asks the scientist who’s been acting as the aliens’ interpreter/liasion what happened? Was it something we said or did? No, the scientist explains, it’s just that in the aliens’ alphabet, the arrangement of the constellation Orion is a very vulgar word.
