The soul of the Tea Party is the people who belong to it — everyday Americans who grow our food, run our small businesses, teach our children how to read, serve the less fortunate and fight our wars. They're folks in small towns and cities across this nation who saw what was happening to our country and decided to get involved. Thank God for them. Many of these good Americans had never been involved in their government before, but now they attend town hall meetings and participate in online forums. They write letters to the editor. They sign up to be precinct leaders and run for local office and support other independent patriots. They have the courage to stand up and speak out.

Au contrare, mon ami. I read the article, from several sources. I’m just not naive.
If what she says is true, why wouldn’t the fee go straight to those charities, or failing that, why wouldn’t she provide some accounting thereof? You do realize, don’t you, that this would be the most effective way to go with it, right? Running the fee through her bank account means she is tax-liable for the income. Even if she donated the whole lot to charity, her tax liability is still more than if she simply had them donate that amount straight to the charities.
For the record, I’m no Dem troll. I have no dog in the race. Likewise, I don’t simply take a person’s word for things either. You can believe what you want, as I know you will and do, but do not presume to think that because Sarah said so, it is so.

She is not running the money through her account...why don’t you go read more info before you say something, you obviously got caught reading the excerpts and assume she didn’t say anything about it, but you keep tripping up and getting in trouble, stop.

I’ve read the quoted article by Sarah, plus other articles about the event, including by the organizers. The speaking fee will be paid to her. She ‘says’ she will then turn around and distribute the amount to charities (well, she originally said it would be to candidates, but, you know...). There is no way for her to do so without running it through her account.
But anyway, keep on keeping on, my friend. She’s counting on you.

I think she gave a big clue in this article as to why she has declared support for Mclame:
“I thought long and hard about my participation in this weekend’s event. At the end of the day, my decision came down to this: It’s important to keep faith with people who put a little bit of their faith in you.”
I’m seriously thinking about driving over there for this, can’t imagine where they will put a crowd in Searchlight though.
