Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says the nation will deliver a harsh blow to the "global arrogance" on this year's anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.
"The Islamic Revolution opened a window to liberty for the human race, which was trapped in the dead ends of materialism," Ahmadinejad said during a cabinet meeting on Sunday.
"If the Islamic Revolution had not occurred, liberalism and Marxism would have crushed all human dignity in their power-seeking and money-grubbing claws. Nothing would have remained of human and spiritual principles," he added.
Ahmadinejad said that in the three decades of its history, the Islamic Revolution had inspired some great developments in the world.
The Iranian president made the remarks as the 31st anniversary of the Islamic Revolution approaches.
Iranians are expected to pour into the streets on February 11 to celebrate the occasion in public rallies across the country, as they have done annually over the past three decades.

I remember. I was in Riyadh at the time. We were hit with scuds as well and so was Dhahran.
If they attempt to take out their nuke sites I don’t think they’ll just sit still. That would fly in the face of the Arab mindset as worse than cowardly...they will do something and have stated as much.
They will try to retaliate, but they are more talk than action. Remember the big talk of Saddam and Baghdad Bob? We will make short work of them. The only problem could be reactions in the Muslim world, especially in Iraq and Afghanistan. Our embassies and other US facilities in a number of countries may come under attack from mobs. We will be definitely blamed even if it is just an Israeli attack.
FYI: Iranians are not arabs.

George Mitchell is Obama’s point person on Israel, not Hillary, not Emmanuel. Netanyahu has called Emmanuel a self-hating Jew and would never deal with him on anything like this. George Mitchell was raised as a Lebanese Arab and is not trusted by Israel.

Some elements in Iran remain hostile to the United States. As a result, American citizens may be subject to harassment or arrest while travelling or residing in Iran. In 2009, Iranian authorities prevented a number of Iranian-American citizens, including journalists, who travelled to Iran for personal or professional reasons from leaving, in some cases for several months. Iranian authorities also detained or imprisoned Iranian-American citizens on various charges, including espionage and posing a threat to national security. Americans of Iranian origin should consider the risk of being targeted by authorities before planning travel to Iran. Iranian authorities may deny dual nationals access to the United States Interests Section in Tehran, because they are considered to be solely Iranian citizens.

In my underinformed opinion, not very much. The Norks have long been political delinquents, and will perpetually have hissy fits re. their presumed need for defending their borders. They've acted like unsupervised 12 year olds for so long that such behavior is expected of them, even if it is obvious to all that it is self-defeating. Syria, Iran and the Norks are all in the bad boy club. Having said this it doesn't mean that they are actually that coordinated, but I guess we'll live long enough to find out if they could actually coordinate something. We'll see.
With the show of force, Obama is telling Iran not to attack US forces and allies and stop the flow of oil and jack up oil prices and kill the U.S. and global economy.
Obama could care less about Israel. From his perspective, they’re on their own if they attack Iran and I’m sure he’s communicated that message to Ahmadinejad.

President Ahmadinejad stressed that on February 11, 2010 the nation would witness the funeral procession of capitalism adding that Iran not pursuing nuclear weapon.
“We do not let capitalist’s powers dominate regions future, they (Western powers)should be courageous and say they are fighting over oil, culture and politics,” President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said.
“We have the courage to say we are not pursuing to build nuclear bomb and if we want that we do not ask your permission.”
President Ahmadinejad spoke of the ten day celebration of the 1979 Islamic revolution as the most outstanding occasion in the country and added that February 11 is height of the occasion.
He also reiterated that Iranians would respond to the world arrogance during this year’s national ceremonies to mark the Islamic Revolution victory anniversary in Iran (February 11).
