STERLING, Va. -- The state of the union here in Strip Mall America remains bleak, which could spell doom for Democrats in congressional elections later this year.

But here at Glory Days Grill, President Obama, while getting a little bruised by voters watching last night's State of the Union Address, could still revel in his past glory of high oratory and soaring promises of hope and change.

Glory Days is a sports bar where the bartender, Tyler Orpin, really does know everybody's name.

It's also the sort of place where folks watching images on TV of the president and Michelle Obama out on the town at 9 p.m. blurt out with a slight hint of disgust: "Who's watching the kids?

And this is no ordinary spot. This is a precinct in a congressional district that normally votes Republican but swung for Obama in 2008.

They are deep dirt ignorant of Obama’s plans and in denial that their icon is out to destroy them.

The article title is misleading. While going on throughout the entire article about people who are disgusted with Obama and feeling he is NOT doing a good job, the article quotes two (count them - 2) Dems at the end of the article who STILL back him. This is just one more example of the media misrepresenting the truth.

In any event, why do polls now include the “voters still like Obama personally” sideline. At what point in Presidential polling did the “likability factor” arise. I don’t remember any Bush polling where they cited high disapproval ratings and then went on to brush them off because “people still felt he was likeable.” This part of the polling is a new addition intended to distract from the reality of Obama’s abysmal job approval ratings.

This is not at ll difficult to understand once you acknowledg what i personally surmised years ago. Democrats, the constituents in any case, are fanatic believers of form over substance. We have all been witness to the Left constantly claiming their candidates, elected officials, etc as “the brightest”, “most caring, sympathetic, forward looking, etc etc”. James Carville referred to Hillary Clinton as “the smartest woman in the world”. Bill Clinton was said to have “read every single line of the budget report (thousands of pages) in one of his years in office.

Th Democrats are a Party of emotion and have no substantive core which defines them. The view then world through gauze over which they place rosecolored glasses and se only what they wish to see, rather than what is there.

It is for these reasons they always seem puzzled whe they lose on anisuue and resort to the excuses of “we were unable to get our message out”, or as in the case ofthe health care debacle, “when we pass the bill andte people see what is REALLY in it they will agree with us”

Josh Lanier, 29, who replaces doors and windows for a living...voted for Obama and has seen his business jump with the federal government's tax incentives...Lanier marveled at the president's stirring speech: "If this guy was a football coach, man, he would have a team that would run through a brick wall for him. The man can talk."

Josh, you're an ignoramus. Read more: http://www.nypost.com/p/news/national/they_still_like_him_go_figure_hu9hYnb0dVsOpmYfc6LeSP#ixzz0e73JQez8
