Yep, the good ole Gruene Hall is still there. Visit it every time we go.

I agree with everything on the list except Luckenbach. There is nothing in Luckenbach except a beer hall. Of course if that is what you like that would make it just about Heaven.

I hate to brag but #3 and # 5 were founded by my ancestors.
Just kidding, I dont hate to brag.

Me, neither. I’m descended from the Austin 300 and I vote Lampasas as a great small town.

Same here I like to brag about my Texas roots. My ancestors came with the Bevil settlement in east Texas. They were here when the Austin colony arrived. So there! ;9)

a friend moved to Georgetown into a DelRay(?) community and loves the area and the community. Money magazine, that leftist rag, names Georgetown one of the top small towns in the US

“My ancestors came with the Bevil settlement in east Texas. They were here when the Austin colony arrived.”
********
From Handbook of Texas Online:
“The settlement was named for John Bevil, who moved there before 1829.”
From the same site:
” Stephen F. Austin led the Old 300 Familes into Texas after the death of his father Moses Austin in 1821.”
I would enjoy going into this with you more and exploring our probable common ancestry. What a small world!

I dunno. I think people have different standards and it’d be pretty subjective.
