I have no real knowledge of Columbia but I think you’ve made some valid points for consideration. From their general web page:

Undergraduate education at Columbia is offered through Columbia College, the Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science, and the School of General Studies. Undergraduate programs are offered by two affiliated institutions, Barnard College and Jewish Theological Seminary. Columbia University provides post-graduate education through thirteen graduate and professional schools and a school of continuing education. Three affiliated schools also offer post-graduate programs.
I particularly noted the following:
MRS. RONDEAU: What impact do you think this will have if it is proven that he won the presidency through completely false circumstances?
DR. MANNING: Initially, it will set the movement of black people back, and I think it will set the racial problem back a few steps when the news finally becomes a reality. What is happening now is that most people in America, at least 49-51% of Americans, have some idea about his being an ineligible candidate, and so it would not be a total shock. It isn’t as if they’d heard it for the very first time. They’ll be prepared to some degree, and by the time it finally does filter out, there will be a campaign to prepare people to receive it. I think that what it will do is it will first set the relationships back a bit; the civil rights leaders will pick up again. Jesse Jackson will get steam again. But then they will lose it, and I think it will then advance the racial problems in America ahead 100 years. By that I mean black people and white people will finally recognize that it was the epitome of racism to have voted for Obama and that they will ultimately repent of it and stop dividing America along racial lines. It was just the worst thing to have done, to continue to promote racism, and I think after Obama, black people and white people can begin to legitimately lose their black and white identities and move forward as Americans.

Furthermore: Hawaii's Territorial Law, Chapter 57 - "VITAL STATISTICS, I", shown beginning pg 23 of 29, (the law in effect in 1961) allowed baby's born anywhere in the world to be eligible to apply for a Hawaii birth certificate.
I was in the school of general studies at columbia during the years that obama was there and got a degree in political science as well in 86. O got his in 83. I transferred from American University in Washington DC whereas O transferred from Occidental in California.
None of the columbia college guys from those years recall O. I don’t recall O either. But I believe he attended GS because all of his beliefs come right out of some of the departments there from that period. And I have seen a phone record of him from 1983 at his apt on east 93 st.
I like manning—and I believe there is a problem with the birth certificate thing— but I agree—he should not have brought in the birth certificate.
Doesn't mean he didn't go there. Or that he did. Osama bin Laden himself did not fight the Ruskies, but he did go there, and helped provide material support.
In all fairness, I would say most of the adjunct professors at dear old GS seemed more Trotskyite than Stalinist. I took a calculus course there at night, even that had a marxist slant!
Actually, Osama did fight at least once, in the inconclusive battle of Jadji, one of the Muj’s forward bases not far from the Pak border.
That’s how he obtained that AKR you always see in the background of all his videos—that he claimed to have won in battle from a Russian he killed.

What tipped you off? Was it the Reeboks?
Don't any of these former students of the General Studies program remember him? I don't recall any of these people coming forward and saying that they sat next to Obama in any of their classes.
I attended Villanova University both general studies and then as a fully enrolled student in the university. **I** surely would have remembered a **black** student in one of my classes. They were as rare as Dodo bird teeth.

Either the ones who know him are ashamed to have ever met him or the media is ignoring them. For a reason.
That’s one thing that scares me. We really can’t afford to have only one media company have a monopoly on decent reporting. The reporting at Fox has been slipping lately. If the one halfway-truthful network goes bad what’s left?
I’ve wondered if Rush Limbaugh has ever considered expanding to head a media company. He’s about the only one I know of who is so big that he doesn’t have a parent company telling him what he can and can’t say. And we know that Obama told the network heads they couldn’t talk about Obama’s eligibility because it is his Achilles’ heel.
HOw likely would he have been to have classes under Richard Cloward?
Manning is correct when he says the following:
The deal is this: if America allows the Tea Party to live after they said it doesn’t matter about the Constitution, it doesn’t matter whether he’s constitutionally eligible, it doesn’t matter whether he is now a treasonous, illegal alien, if they have said that about the Constitution and are allowed to get away with it, we’re in a much deeper state of being…I am doing this pursuit of Columbia…you asked an initial question, “Why didn’t Fox News pursue this matter even further? Why didn’t the political structure pursue Obama’s eligibility and why are they not doing it now?” Because they said, “We don’t care about the Constitution.” The Tea Party must be stopped or must be held accountable for the fact that they have become complicit in not caring whether or not this man is constitutionally eligible./p>
