I was in the school of general studies at columbia during the years that obama was there and got a degree in political science as well in 86. O got his in 83. I transferred from American University in Washington DC whereas O transferred from Occidental in California.
None of the columbia college guys from those years recall O. I don’t recall O either. But I believe he attended GS because all of his beliefs come right out of some of the departments there from that period. And I have seen a phone record of him from 1983 at his apt on east 93 st.
I like manning—and I believe there is a problem with the birth certificate thing— but I agree—he should not have brought in the birth certificate.
In all fairness, I would say most of the adjunct professors at dear old GS seemed more Trotskyite than Stalinist. I took a calculus course there at night, even that had a marxist slant!
HOw likely would he have been to have classes under Richard Cloward?
Also, do you remember when you started filling out your applications to transfer in to Columbia, or what documents they asked you to give? It’s a long time ago so I understand if you don’t remember, but if you do remember, it could be helpful.
I think Obama attended Occidental—probably as an Indonesian exchange student on scholarship.
And he may have attended the School of General Studies. He lived off campus, and maybe he somehow managed to sign up for private tutorials with some of the more political professors through his Communist connections.
But I don’t see anything wrong with asking this question. How do we know Obama went to Columbia at all, or earned a degree there, when we have zero records of his courses and grades and apparently nobody remembers him?
Maybe somebody DID buy him his degree, one way or another. If Columbia and Obama don’t like that take on the matter, then let them cough up a few records. Otherwise, we’ll think what we like.
How many famous people like Obama are there who apparently have NO childhood or college friends at all who are willing to come forward and talk about him? Has he killed them all off? it’s very strange indeed.
