It started out innocently in a conversation with a well-connected Democrat friend who is now-disillusioned Obama voter.
We were discussing the Massachusetts election, and I joked that I didn’t know if the Democrats could stand another three years under Obama. He fired back that he and several of his friends didn’t know if they could stand ONE more year under Obama.
I posited that the only way it could happen that fast is if you could get him out of office on something like an eligibility issue, and that I couldn’t imagine any Democrat would ever become a “birther”!
There was a silence for a few moments and then he confided that “one might surprised at what is being whispered about by disillusioned members at high levels in the party”. He cut the conversation off at that point and we reverted back to small talk.
This all sounded so not credible to me, but you can never underestimate the Democrats’ desire to stay in power. The more I pondered his words, the more intriguing and perhaps terrifying the outcomes became.
Consider this scenario, the Democrats actually let “birther” investigations to go forward, publicly condemning the Republicans for pushing the issues, while quietly not impeding or even facilitating them . Two outcomes can happen. Obama is proven eligible and the Republicans are embarrassed and fall from public grace. Obama retains power and Democrats regain some public confidence.
Should Obama be removed from office, it becomes the ultimate opportunity to play the race card, because the still-“conservative” Supreme Court would have to “conspire” with the "racist" Republicans to force Obama’s departure from office. Democrats could swear Obama’s innocence, a repeat of the Lewinsky defense, in which Bill Clinton came out more powerful politically. The Democrats could raise the race issue with the Republicans until the end of recorded time for removing the first Black President from office.
At the precipice of their political comeback, the Republicans could fall hard! A Democrat "Rope a Dope"?
Admittedly this is a shameless self post, maybe I’m reading more into this than was really there. If you disagree, flame away, pull the post, and tell me to take my meds and go to my room.
I believe Dems at every level are looking for a way to cancel “The Conan Obama Show”. This means wouldn’t surprise me, but they need to be made to do their own dirty work on it.
As Limbaugh pointed out...we can’t even see his college transcripts....nothing about this guy....

this is an amazing thread. I think if the power brokers were going after Obama, some other shoes would have to drop. Biden would have some kind of illness and require a replacement (Clinton, or a moderate like Bayh.) Obama would have to pick him or her. Pelosi is also toxic and would have to go. it is interesting to ponder what the legal solution for this would be...a special presidential election, a re-run of the previous election with a new candidate on either or both sides? Very fascinating. Very scary!
I’m not at all sure it would play out that way. Perhaps if the Republicans took over the house and senate in next fall’s elections, they could hold hearings on Obama’s birth problem.
But in the first place, it’s doubtful they will control the Senate that soon.
And in the second place, it’s the Dems who would want Obama out NOW, not the Republicans. They could afford to wait for another election in 2012, once they controlled enough seats to stop Obama from passing any more monster bills. Obama would take more and more flak for the bad economy, while the Republican party strengthened its position with the voters and the Dems got weaker and weaker.
For that reason, I think it would have to be a revolt among the Democrats in congress, throwing out Reid and Pelosi, installing more “moderate” leadership, and then calling for hearings. If necessary, they could start impeachment proceedings. But the Republicans would wait for the Dems to do it, IMHO. Why should they take the blame?
For the Left truth is only a tool and only for emergency use when all else fails.The problem is that when the pile of tools is emptied out on the floor that one tool is hard to find and harder to use.
I am furious with Fox and their yappers as well a Rush. These guys **KNOW** that their is something very wrong with Obama’s eligibility and the **deliberately** choose not to report it.
I will never trust them again. In fact, I often wonder if they are part of a paid and controlled opposition.

Think of it as mutually assured destruction. Obama has plenty of dirt on Hillary too.

These folks abuse power; but they do not fool anyone. Obama is not just a sorry excuse for an arrogant narcissism; he is a meglo-narcissist and a dangerous one.

I can imagine a democrat leaking the documents with the idea of taking down the entire bunch at the top including Obama, Biden, Pelosi and any who could have had in perpetrating this fraud on the public. When it is realized that Obama, assuming that he is ineligible, knew the truth and committed this fraud on the country, and was aided and abetted by Pelosi and others, the entire group will resign or simply be arrested and removed from office. If the democrats are smart, something doubtful at best, they’ll do it themselves so that they can have a hand in replacing him with one of their own, probably one a bit more moderate. It’s their only chance to hold onto power, given the mess we have currently.
I can also imagine that the people who backed Obama are now seeing him as a liability. He’ll be removed as he not only isn’t getting the job done, but his continuing presence may well lead back to those pulling his strings.
You are all dreaming improbably dreams. The Democrats will resist bad info to the end and will fight for Hussein to the end, at least until after this November. If it becomes apparent to them that Hussein will lose the 2012 election then after November this year they will start to distance themselves from him and various hopefuls will maneuver to make themselves alternatives for the primaries. The best in this scenario for them would be for him to do a Johnson and decline to run. It didn’t help them in 1968, either.
Among the folks I know here the “bruthas” only care that there be a “black man” in the White House. They don’t care so much about what he does or accomplishes. They see him as an Icon more than as an effective agent.
Intriguing, but not possible. We all know that he isn’t eligible simply because his father was a British citizen when Obama II was born, regardless of where he was born, but the ENTIRE DEMOCRATIC CAUCUS as well as most of the Republicans KNOW he is ineligible. The DNC along with Pelosi signed off on the Two different certifications (one sent to Hawaii with verbage about being a natural born citizen, and one sent to the other 49 states without that verbage). Hawaii made them put that in their cert. to cover their butt. The entire power structure has known all along. So to allow Obama to be sent packing, it would allow all of them to be thrown out for treason. I wish they could, but as had been said, they will do anything to stay in power, and allowing BHO to get the boot, they would be signing their own death certs.
Totally uncharted waters.
Hussein being proven ineligible is way different from simply resigning or being removed from office by impeachment.
The implications for everyone and the Republic are unpredictable to say the least.
I can this this with certainty. No matter what happened, the Dems would [attempt to] play the race card. And the RINOs would valiantly try to turn victory into defeat.
Not only could we get rid of him; Nancy Pelosi would have to be prosecuted for committing fraud. We might be able to get rid of both of them.
How can we be sure that he even attended some of the schools he claims” His records are “unavailable” and, at Columbia at least. none of his contemporaries have any memories of him.
