The former six-term congressman stepped down Friday as host of his conservative talk radio program on a radio station in Phoenix.
"We will formally announce at a later time, but we're moving forward to challenge John McCain," Hayworth told the Associated Press. "I think we all respect John. I think his place in history is secure. But after close to a quarter-century in Washington, it's time for him to come home."

Here you go. Your wish has been granted. Go Hayworth!!!
How many Independent voters does AZ have? Scott Brown won thanks to the indies —over 50% in Mass.
I too realize perfection is a false goal. Heck, as imperfect as I realize I am, how on earth could I expect it in anyone else? My point was that we have hold everyone that wants to represent us to some basic fundamentals. In no way was it intended as an attack on your position. Do I vote for the lesser of two evils? Yes. Will I do whatever I can to try to make it a choice between one evil and one good. You Betcha.
I don’t know about Levin but don’t lump Rush in with Hannity. I listen to Rush and he despises McCain. Whereas Sean “airhead” Hannity worships McCain.
That's very true. I wish Sarah would pull back from any involvement with McCain, but there are seven full months until this primary vote takes place August 31. Plenty of time to observe and plenty of time for many twists and turns.
And there is no result I've wanted more in this mid-term period than to see J. D. Hayworth enter the race and send Juan McCain to retirement at his wife's many homes.
Well said!
Point taken. Thanks.
Integrity is standing for what you believe in regardless of cost. If Palin is practicing integrity then it must mean that her values and McCain's values are closely aligned. Which means that she is no conservative.
Notice this part of the article: McCain's Senate re-election campaign said Wednesday that his presidential running mate, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, will come to Arizona to campaign for him in March. Palin has been a vocal opponent of gay marriage.
I've been asking myself: who's been advising Sarah. And a certain radio and TV host keeps coming to mind. And, he is the only talker I heard mention this during the past week. He'd mention Sarah would be campaigning with Juan as if it were nothing. And he has also talked the Tea Party movement up as much as anyone.
Surely he is bright enough to know that the Tea Partiers and McCain are not the best match in the world, and that Sarah is the great hope to many of them, and that some huge conflicts lie in all that. But he acts like it's all just nothing. And Sarah sure has spent a lot of time around him the past few weeks.
But all this will become a topic soon, and I'm also waiting to see what he has to say about JD's, the true conservative's, entry into the race, and about Sarah's endorsing McCain the RINO, and just who Hannity will eventually support if he has the guts to endorse JD or Juan.
“If Palin is practicing integrity then it must mean that her values and McCain’s values are closely aligned. Which means that she is no conservative.”
Ironic that this post is illogical due to your handle?
How can he legally do this when Haworth had not declared? Isn’t this slander?
Like, why them prostitucians hang in there until they are old, ugly and stupid?
After 65 retire, you made enough loot and go play with your grandchildren.
Sarah doesn’t have to endorse nobody, jus stay away from dog fights. What is this “endorsement” crap anyway?
Like we can’t make our own mind, need some turkey to tell us wasaaaaaap?
That's how the Clinton's kept their congress critters in line (Bayh in particular)...That's why Obama is an enigma (he had no political clout to expend only money from outside sources/Soros)
She apparently cannot see him for what he is, what he has done. She didn't see the wolf, she saw a nice, friendly Malamute.
"I'm going to run a really terrible campaign, Joe, so this guy can destroy our country. Barack says if I'll do that, he'll get his slavish media to turn my slutty daughter into a national celebrity, just as they did with Ron Reagan."
There is hope!
When you see the Mexican flags and other flags - rather than American flags - being hoisted at these demonstrations, you essentially are getting this message: Yes, we are here illegally. No, we do not believe this to be your country. We do not believe in your laws . . . and we dont believe youre going to do anything about it. - Rep. J.D. Hayworth (AZ-R) -
However, Rep. J.D. Hayworth (R-AZ) has taken the lead in the fight to stop the U.S.-Mexico totalization agreement from taking effect. He has introduced H. Res. 20, a resolution of disapproval in the House.
REP. J.D. HAYWORTH, (R) ARIZONA: If there are so-called good people overstaying their visas, there are really bad people too. And more than just your garden variety of criminal, probably in that group, sad to say, are those folks who belong to terrorist cells who mean to do us harm.

Yep, JD was as good as we had on the illegal alien/immigration enforcement question. And he was persona non grata at the Bush/Rove White House when they were working their amnesty schemes hard. I heard him joke about that a few times on his radio show. I think they worked against JD's reelection, and I'm not sure he had much help from the RNC financially in 2006.
Nothing finer thing could happen during 2010 in US politics than to see JD defeat and replace Juan McCain.
Looks pretty conservative to me."
The choice is then obvious.
