At the end of Barack Obamas worst week since taking power a year ago, the US presidents fortunes look set only to deteriorate over the coming days. Following the shock defeat of the Democratic candidate in Massachusetts on Tuesday, a move that deprived the president of his 60-seat super-majority in the Senate and left his legislative agenda in tatters, Mr Obama has just four days to reboot the system.
The US president had originally delayed next weeks State of the Union address to Congress in the hope he would get his signature healthcare reform bill enacted in time. That prospect, already waning, was killed dead by the voters in Massachusetts. A growing number of Democrats believe the nine-month effort could collapse altogether.

The ‘nightmare’ is what occupies the second floor residence...
“White House nightmare persists”
That’s interesting, because the people have been living a nightmare since November 2008.
To quote an obscure radio commentator, I HOPE HE FAILS.
Obama enjoyed destroying Hillary in the election and by not giving her VP.
Passing HIS healthcare was to be Phase 2 of that destruction.
Teaming Bush and Bubba in Haiti also appears to bear seeds of destruction.
He likes to destroy....trying the terrorists in NYC, the plane incident in NYC, his Hassan comments, his banker comments....
He's nuts...just plain nuts...totally destructive in nature.
His State of the Union??? Wouldn't be surprised if he cancels it for TV and just addresses Congress which is all that is required.
Wheels on da ground
Wheels on da ground
Lookin’ like a fool
Wit your wheels on da ground!
I actually heard some idiot on Fox this morning say that we should take the Wall St. bonuses away from them and give the money to Haiti.
AAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Well, gosh. Yes, I see the logic. Pass the idea on to Obama. Who could possibly argue? That makes perfect sense.
If you’re a TOTALITARIAN!
Just to remind everyone that health care was stopped in its tracks in August and September by two things. Tea Party/Town Halls and Sarah Palin’s death panels. From that point Obama, the Dems, and the MSM were playing defense, and not at all well. But to quote Churchill, “This is not the end, nor is it the beginning of the end, but it is the end of the beginning. Take back the country one seat at a time.
It’s too much. They are setting him up for lower expectations.
They know he was way too high, set to fail. You watch. Within a little bit they are going to be talking about his “miraculous comeback”.
And every lib member of the MSM is going to be gloating as they say it.
Unless, of course, we get blown up by some terrorist. Then all bets are off the table.
Wonder if by the time Jan 27th rolls around, the SOTU Address will be held behind closed doors and without benefit of TV cameras. Otherwise, it may have more noise (and jeering) than a dome NFL playoff game or a WWE event. It getting harder to find anyone (beyond Rahm and maybe his parents) who actually believes that Zero is doing much of anything right.
And to quote the Thug-in-chief: “When they push, push back twice as hard.” That’s exactly what Mass. did Tuesday in a beautiful maneuver to out-Alinsky Alinsky. The unambiguous message was “Uh, no, as a matter of fact, we’re NOT going to let you continue with your socialist takeover.” Like all bullies and thugs, we need to keep kicking him, even though he’s down. Show no mercy. It’s life or death.
Uh, I prefer to think of it as America’s nightmare persists... at least until 2012.
He could just send a printed text.
But that would not allow for a week of MSM adoration describing just how wonderful the reception of the event was (for no one outside of the politicos to see).
