Andy Dick Arrested for Sexual Abuse

Andy Dick was arrested in West Virginia this morning on two counts felony counts of sexual abuse.

He is currently in custody at the Western Regional Jail. He is due to be arraigned sometime today.

Dick was in town performing at the Funny Bone in Huntington, WV.

Dick is currently on probation over an incident at a pizza joint, where he was arrested for sexual assault. He copped a plea to battery in 2008.

Dick was in an altercation with his former NewsRadio costar Jon Lovitz, who claimed that, a year earlier, Dick had approached him at a restaurant and said, "I put the Phil Hartman hex on you; you're the next one to die," and demanded an apology from Dick. Lovitz has alleged that Dick gave cocaine to Hartman's wife Brynn, a recovering addict, causing her to relapse and five months later, kill her husband in their home before committing suicide. Upon joining the cast of NewsRadio as Hartman's replacement, Lovitz told Dick, "I wouldn't be here now if you hadn't given Brynn that cocaine."

I knew Lovitz some years back. Absolutely wonderful guy. If he says this, it is true. Besides: He and Hartman were close, and Dick knows it. It is incredibly hurtful for Dick to have made that "hex" joke... if that's what it was.
