March for Life, Roe vs. Wade Rally Disrupting Traffic in DC

The annual event to march in Washington DC as a pro-choice or pro-life participant is happening today. With streets around the National Mall closed, parking restrictions, as well as fourteen bus lines being rerouted and the slowing of commuter trains from Maryland, traffic Disruption in Washington DC is a big concern today.

The National Organization for Women, Choice USA and NARAL Pro-Choice America are gathering at noon at the Supreme Court, 1st Street NE between Maryland Ave and East Capitol in Washington DC as well. The Supreme Court decision Roe vs. Wade decided in 1973 to make abortion legal in the United States, thus prompting these organizations and the annual January 22nd rally. Abortion and a women's right to choose or not has been at the forefront of political conflict ever since.

For the March for Life rally, Washington Post states: "At about 11:30 a.m., many of the rally participants will march to the Mall from an event at the Verizon Center. This will require temporary closures along 7th Street NW from F Street to Madison Drive. The main rally is scheduled for noon on the Mall at 7th Street NW. At about 2:15 p.m., participants will march to the Supreme Court. The route will take them north on 4th Street NW to Pennsylvania Avenue, then east to Constitution Avenue and up Capitol Hill to the intersection of 1st Street NE and East Capitol Street. Police will temporarily close the route and cross streets to vehicles during the march."

March for Life is also going virtual this year. Visit their website to find out how. Getting to these places in person might be a problem, but for the residents attempting to simply get around, they've got another thing coming.

Check out www.virtualmarchforlife.com if you can't be in Washington DC. Preliminary reports are 300,000 marchers. But since they aren't all openly gay, don't expect Katie Couric, et al, to mention it.

Watching it on EWTN. Great speakers at the rally earlier. My teenaged daughter is there in Washington—I am so proud!

If the Supreme Court can reverse the 100 year long suppressions of free speech culminating in McCain/Feingold, we know they can reverse Roe V Wade and all associated court rulings!

Let’s pour on the prayers asking for divine intercession!

Me too! I've been there in the past but not today. The high percentage of young people in these marches is incredible, inspiring and gives great hope for the future.

End abortion now.

BTW, Sarah Palin is live on Oprah today to Talk About Life!.

Look at all of them! I'm sure the MSM will say a 'few hundred anti-choice/anti-women's reproductive rights protesters' showed up in DC today. Wish I could be there!! "WE CHOOSE LIFE!" I pray to God that within my lifetime He will end the Preborn Holocaust! :*(

Stopping work in DC must be encouraged.

“Giving every man a vote has no more made men wise and free than Christianity has made them good”

When you look at the world, and Christians all over the world, I think you have to admit that Christanity does make men more good.

“Stopping work in DC must be encouraged”

Hard to argue.

“When you look at the world, and Christians all over the world, I think you have to admit that Christanity does make men more good.”

More good than what? And whose standard do we use, mans’ or Gods’?

There’s nothing about this on CNN’s main news page at the moment. Nothing on Yahoo, either.

Hey I'm watching EWTN and IMO they just jumped on the ‘trash Wall Street’ bandwagon. Even as they were interviewing strong Christian men who worked there. Clearly the field reporter buys Obama’s characterization of bankers and brokers.
