A well-informed source tells The Mouth Nancy Pelosi is set to announce the House will go the reconciliation route on health care reform.
Of course, that means using a budgetary procedure that requires a simple majority to pass.
Its still unclear to us precisely what that means would be passed, but possibilities would be creating a national health care exchange and expanding Medicare or Medicaid coverage.
Democrats are caucusing now, so stay tuned.
Update: A second source confirms that Pelosi is presenting a reconciliation plan to the caucus, and making sure they go with something that can actually pass.
Separately, she is meeting with Harry Reid today.

Go the nuclear option route Pelousy and Dirty Reid. It will be fun watching the Mass slaughter in November to your party.
Is not reconciliation a procedure of the Senate that by passes the cloture vote?
Maybe they can give Li'l Barry a bullfrog and have him show-n-tell with that...?
That's alright, no problem-- I'm here to help...
Her Hubris will be her downfall.
See my post #16. They bury stuff like this in appropriations bills all the time. It doesn't mean 'reconciliation' per se to do that. Also, the Senate can take up what elements they want and run with them. Don't put it passed these people to do this piecemeal. That's been the plan since Tuesday. That's why Obama said he didn't want any vote on healthcare until Scott Brown was seated. That was misdirection.
One would think.
But what is dead is the current Senate and House versions of Obamacare. If they go the reconciliation route they have to draft a new bill meeting the requirements of that process. That bill has to be developed, I would assume, in conjunction with the Senate. The problem Pelosi and Reid have is SCOTT BROWN SYNDROME. It affects a large number of Dems in the House and the Senate who would just like to see this whole Obamacare business put behind them at least until they can, they hope, get re-elected.
So I'm not surprised that Pelosi and Reid are going through the "reconciliation motions" since their base would expect them to do so. But success is hardly assured.
Yes, this is already outdated information. The thread should probably just be deleted.
Here is what Rep Weiner (D) said about it.
Caution, language!

So what will happen if they do succeed in stuffing this down our throats?
She is taking it personally now.. especially with today’s pic on Drudge mocking her.
Keep the self destruction going Nancy — Full speed ahead !
or
Because it gives an opportunity for the so call conservative dimrats to vote against it like they should of to begin with so Nancy can save her precious dimrat majority in the House?
I'm all for it! The Republican congress will be veto-proof and can repeal the whole damned thing before it even hits the ground.
Lord, how many months before we get rid of this woman?
If they radically cut back to, say, pass portability and ban pre-existing condition clauses, that could pass, but I think they're still in too much denial to go there.
Yes, I hope they go for it. Each day they waste on HCR versus a real job creation approach (lower taxes and regulation), the worse November will be for them. Just imagine the time used up to hammer out a plan that a majority in both houses can vote on. All the while, strong candidates from the GOP will be announcing for seats of incumbent Democrats. Money will be pouring into those campaigns and Democrats in the House and Senate will be going nuts. I say, “Bring It.”
