Huh? Isn’t that at odds with her “health care is dead...” remarks?

One would think.

But what is dead is the current Senate and House versions of Obamacare. If they go the reconciliation route they have to draft a new bill meeting the requirements of that process. That bill has to be developed, I would assume, in conjunction with the Senate. The problem Pelosi and Reid have is SCOTT BROWN SYNDROME. It affects a large number of Dems in the House and the Senate who would just like to see this whole Obamacare business put behind them at least until they can, they hope, get re-elected.

So I'm not surprised that Pelosi and Reid are going through the "reconciliation motions" since their base would expect them to do so. But success is hardly assured.

Yeah, I think you have the accurate picture here. The House dems are likely not going to vote anything like they did before because of the Scott Brown syndrome.

In other words, Pelosi may not have votes she had before on anything involving healthcare, we can hope.

I doubt they will be able to get a simple majority in the House. Most members will be happy to put this behind them as quickly as possible and try to find ways to distance themselves from the Obama administration.

The may be corrupt lefties, but they are probably reluctant to slit their own throats for the sake of Obama.
