I must have been terribly out of touch - I didn’t even know they were revisiting it. What case is it?

More:
10:05 Tom Goldstein: Much will depend on the wording, but today's decision is a small revolution in campaign finance law.

As rahmbo deadfish said recently when asked about what he thought about free speech, he said “It’s overrated.”...........

I must have been terribly out of touch - I didnt even know they were revisiting it. What case is it? It's the Citizens United case.

You beat my post by about a minute...it looks like McCain-Feingold was completely thrown out. The "reversed in part" language refers to the lower court decision in Citizens United.

Is this for real? McCain/Feingold thrown out? Looks like it - the're analyzing the opinion now (and it's enormous - 170+ pages), but it looks like McCain-Feingold is dead, and long-standing restrictions on corporate donations have been struck down as well.

From what I’ve read so far, it looks like the court has removed restrictions on corporate political free speech.............

Of course they are reversing it now the left has control over most major corporations now for the first time its in their advantage any company that crosses the line will be crushed.
When they pass this financial overhaul they will have the right to take control of any company that poses a risk to the economy. Who do you think the banks will be supporting.
To: jessduntno
i'm shocked!!! Stevens, Ginsburg, Sotomayor, and Breyer dissent.

Dont fall for the trap now it is advantages for the left they have their hands in all coprorate operations. Financial bill passes they will have the right to step in and stop any company that poses risk to economy(progressives).
To: TonyInOhio
I like the decision.
Too bad on the timing. The Dems and the MSM are down and out but they now have something to hang their hats on — they can now make hay of this by saying that the decision, made by repub appointments, is another gift to the rich corporations.

Since Sotomayer was appointed by an illegitimate office holder, she is an illegitimate Supreme Court Justice.
